This is a lovely story, leaving you with a smile on your face & a happy mood., September 16, 2010
I haven't written a review in a long time, but this book made an impression on me & I wanted to applaud the author & let others know this book is a real winner!
The story involves a young woman named Eva who discovers that she is an Arabian princess by birth, and her newly discovered grandfather wants to marry her off to Sheikh Karim. Eva is alone in the world except for her new family of strangers, due to her mother's recent death. Her mother had been married to a Sheikh, but Eva never knew.
What makes this story different? The way the characters come together is full of interesting twists & turns, which I won't give away; and they quickly find each other quite special but learn how to trust each other & their circumstances throughout the storyline, before we see them realize they both love each other.
Karim is of course arrogant, but has a soft spot for Eva that she cannot see & keeps misinterpreting due to their cultural differences. We learn early-on how much of a heart Karim hides from others, via the love he shows for his very ill little girl; his previous wife is no longer in the picture.
I love author Kim Lawrence's sense of humor with the characters & their storyline, which adds a wonderful lightheartedness that is missing in too many Harlequins.
Oh--and the passion between these two is quite wonderful :)
I hope you'll give this book a chance, it is rare to find one that leaves you feeling happy when you read the final sentence and close the book with a sigh. The story isn't wrapped up in too much of a hurry, and we get enough time to see the characters find their happiness (Thank you, Kim!), and get an epilogue of what happens in their lives in a year's time.
Lovely ending for a lovely book.
