The Sheik's Kidnapped Bride is sensational. I really enjoyed reading this book. I was absolutely in love with the character of Prince Khalil Khan of El Bahar.

2.0 out of 5 stars Just okay
I have read all 13 books of this series this one was the least I enjoyed. I was getting upset on how much her weight was brought up. Speacially at the end when Amber called her a fat cow or the writer kept pointing out Dora was not pretty. I think the book would have been a better read if it was not for this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Desert Romance, June 26, 2000
The Sheik's Kidnapped Bride is sensational. I really enjoyed reading this book. I was absolutely in love with the character of Prince Khalil Khan of El Bahar.

Plain Dora Nelson finds herself abandoned on a private air strip in Kansas wearing her wedding gown. She has no identification, money, or clothes. She asks a stranger if she can bum a ride on his jet and meets Prince Khalil.

Prince Khalil is frustrated with his business trip to the States and would like to throttle his temporary assistant, Bambi. When a crying woman approaches him and asks for a ride he behaves as a knight in shining armor and allows Dora to board his plane. Dora becomes his assistant and shortly thereafter his wife.

Dora and Khalil are wonderfully written characters. Susan Mallery does a wonderful job of creating an exciting Arabian romance. The Sheik's Kidnapped Bride is definitely a book I will read again and again.

5.0 out of 5 stars I laughed out loud!, April 11, 2000
By A Customer
I loved the heroine, I loved the desert, I especially loved the clueless hero who has to learn to love! Susan Mallery understands the appeal of the sheik romance and creates a special world where men are men and women are witty and everyone gets to win. Can't wait for the others!

4.0 out of 5 stars A great start to a sheik series!, April 23, 2000

I found the hero's attitude (I am a prince, you should be honored) very realistic. The poor heroine is clueless, but delightful. I enjoyed how she made her hero sweat it out and the scenes between them were delightful. However...the only thing that dropped my personal rating of this book from a 5 to a 4 1/2 was the ending. It seemed too abrupt and as if the heroine gave in. I did feel that the hero grew throughout the book, and that is rare in this type of stories. Good job!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun Read, April 20, 2000
This book was very enjoyable. Dora was so capable and intelligent in all areas BUT love! She was hilarious in her cluelessness about romance. Prince Khalil was just as funny in his "I am the Prince, you should be happy to be with me" mode. It was great to watch him unbend without even realizing it. Both of them found something in each other they didn't even know they were looking for. A sweet romance...and I can't wait to find out what happens to the other brothers!

4.0 out of 5 stars This is Real Love, January 27, 2011
The prince seems so real; rugged, and unbending. He was funny to listen to at times and the heroine had the same responses that I would have given that times. I do a agree with another reviewer who said that she did seem to give in at the end of the book, but that is the way love is. No one is going to be perfect all the time. Sometimes, we have to just take someone just the way they are, if we don't and push them away for one flaw, we miss out on all the good things that we first found in that person.

4.0 out of 5 stars This book was a great find, April 6, 2000

If you like desert romances with a few quirks and twists, this is a book for you. The characters made it fun to read this, I just kept wondering where the two were going and when certian points were going to come up in their relationship. It was a fun book to read and very good.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Battle of Wills Set in the Desert - Passionate and Fun, September 19, 2005

A lonely and scared Dora stranded in her wedding gown at an airport with no money, coat or personal belongings? What's a girl to do? Enter handsome, sexy and powerful Prince Kahlil Khan of El Bahar to the rescue. What a great start for the Desert Rogues series by Susan Mallery.

Dora Nelson had never known love nor had ever felt she belonged. She now has a chance to succeed as a personal PA to Prince Khalil. Little does she realize that she will grow not only to respect him but also fall in love? Little does the prince know that he will come to depend upon Dora not only as his PA but also to help him get out of an ugly situation, an arranged marriage to one of his countryman.....a personal family friend with loose morals and unsuitable as a wife of a crown prince. Khalil tricks Dora into marriage and when she finds out this fact, she can't forgive him. Khalil takes Dora back to El Bahar where a stand-off begins in their marriage. Dora is allowed to work with the Western businessman to liaise with them and El Bahar while she struggles with her love for her husband.

Susan Mallery has gotten off to a great start with this book, the first in her Desert Rogues series. I enjoyed the humor Susan brought to her story and the depth of passion that was shown. Her use of dialogue is interesting and intriguing as she weaves this very romantic tale set in the desert

3.0 out of 5 stars From Back Cover, January 7, 2006
Swept away by the passionate Prince Khalil Khan, Dora Nelson reveled in her new fairy-tale life as princess of El Bahar. But once she learned that the love and affection Khalil had showered her with were a sham, she refused to bend to his will. For he'd tricked her, and she couldn't forgive him....

But she also couldn't stop loving him. More than anything else, Dora wanted a happy home and an adoring husband. Still, when Dora's feistiness met Khalil's arrogance, sparks flew. And unless Dora and Khalil agreed to meet halfway, this fiery marriage threatened to consume them both!

1st in The Desert Sons series
