About the Author

Stepping onto the court is T.N. Baker. This prolific author was born, raised and still resides in Queens, NY. T.N. Baker is the mother of a daughter and rising best-selling author. ''I always had a passion for writing but never shared my writing skills with anyone. In my twenty something years of living I started on 3 books but never took it serious enough to complete them. To me it didn't matter if I completed them or not, writing was just something I liked doing in my spare time, because it soothes my soul,'' said Baker. Sheisty is the ninth jewel in the Triple Crown tiara. Readers are in for the tale of their lives. Getting Down For Her Crown, T. N. Baker put the pen where her mouth was and shared the tale of three friends, Epiphany Wright, Keisha Moore, and Shana Scott, the best of friends growing up in the hood of Southside Jamaica Queens.

More About the Author

*First let me start off by saying thank you all so much for supporting me...and PLEASE BE AWARE THAT DICE IS THE CONTINUATION TO THE SHORT STORY IN CREAMS ANTHOLOGY ROLLIN' DICE!
Thank you!

Much Luv!!!!
T.N. Baker is a product of the quote, 'Hard work pays off.' Before becoming an Essence Magazine bestseller she worked as a receptionist during the day and bartended at night. Her drive for success led her to enroll in college preparatory classes. There she was able to take a creative writing course and hone a longtime hobby into a passion and career.

'When I was younger, creative writing and language arts were always my favorite classes. I didn't realize I had a passion for writing until I put pen to paper and wrote my first few poems.' Baker began writing poetry when she was about 17 years old. These poems began to manifest into short stories which she shared with her class.

The author's first few pieces were descriptions of how her parents met and their relationship's turmoil. She then began to develop characters for a story called Sheisty. After reading a few passages of this multi-plot tale, her teacher began to push the option of writing as a career to T.N.

Baker's writing teacher sent the story to Vickie Stringer, publisher of Triple Crown Publications. Stringer loved what she read and gave T.N. a two book deal. Sheisty went on to become a national bestseller as well as its sequel, Still Sheisty.

T.N.'s stories are filled with passion, betrayal, friendship and drama. These were the elements that made the 1994 book, The Coldest Winter Ever, a page turner. The Sistah Souljah novel just happens to be the first book Baker ever read. 'That book really sparked my interest for reading. Each character was so rich as every scene poured off the pages and into my imagination so vividly. I hope readers are able to visualize my adaptations just like that,' said Baker.

'I'd like for my readers to take away from this novel that sometimes you can't help who you love. Although they may have wronged you in the past, sometimes it's just meant to be. Love can conquer all,' said T.N. about Dice's message.

Although Baker's books are drama-packed, she is mildly mannered and is a self proclaimed homebody. She does however, likes to travel abroad and spends time with her daughter.

T.N. Baker was born and raised in Jamaica Queens, NY and currently resides in Charlotte, NC with her 12-year old daughter.

Can a teenage friendship survive adulthood. In my opinion, T.N. Baker has written a very realistic coming of age tale that happens to take place in the hood. Close friends since their teens, Epiphany, Keisha, and Shana are now grown up, but with their hood mentality accompanying the young women into adulthood, their morals and values are rather skewed.

The love of material possession, men of dubious character, and plain greed test the friendship.

There is a cliffhanger ending with a preview of book two at the end of the story. Thus, to find out how everything ties together, the reader has to buy the sequel.

All in all, it was a pretty good read.

I loved this book. And I promise I will buy anything T.N. Baker puts out but sister can you get somebody to edit your work. What is up with that? If Triple Crown won't edit your work then give Terri Woods a call or Carl Weber for that matter. Please, please, you have so much talent but it is wasted because of poor editing.
5stars for content.
negitive 3 stars for editing.

T.N Baker has really outdone herself with this book. From page one I knew that this book would be a real page turner.Sheisty tells the story of three friends who grew up together but somehow managed to grow apart as they got older. Sometimes people do stay the same while others manage to grow and thats what happened between Shana, Epiphany and Keisha. As i read this book I couldn't help but relate to the situation of these three girls. But overall this is one of the best books that i have read in a long time, very well written!!!
