This is chunky, bright and fun to handle for the recommended age group (2+) but has some problems. The servo noise from the mechanism is so loud that the music and sound effects are barely audible. The engine itself tends to jump track on the bends. You can overcome this by playing with the angle/elevation of the track and the direction of the train but it's supposed to be a simple, flat circuit so this would seem to be an awful lot of work to keep it on track. The motion of the train causes the track to slip around on a bare table or wood floor which can also unseat it. Finally the trigger (pushing down on the train driver) seems to be a bit of an art; you have to push it in just the right place & angle, and if you get it really wrong the whole thing can flip up and the bits go all over the place. I also think it might be a little boring for more advanced 2 year olds. It's cute but for just a few more dollars you could get something much better designed.

Purchased this for a grandson and overall he enjoyed it.

The box had no directions on nor in it as to what the colored buttons did, nor how to make the train do the other functions. Granted it's not rocket-science, but trial & error isn't something to be doing when a 2-year old wants to play.

Also, the train wheels slip going up the grade at the "station" so dust/dirt is definitely going to be an issue.

I thought this would be really cute for my nephew, but he was kinda young to understand it. He liked watching it go around, but he couldn't figure it out on his own.

Defiantly very sturdy cause it gets thrown around in toy boxes and it still works great.

Overall, a very nice train set that can fit in limited space.

I bought this toy for my 2 year old Grandson and he loves it. It didn't take him too long to figure out how to use it so this is a easy toy to learn. I was surprized by how big they were but it makes it great for him to handle. Overall it is a great toy.

Great goes around in circles my 2 month old son is attracted to the movement, light, and the sounds. The locomotive has an excellent motor that if you take it off the track and put it on carpet or wood it will stil go.

I bought this toy for my 20 month old and he loves it. The construction is pretty sturdy for the price. It runs fine on the carpet as well as hardwood floor. In fact, I gifted this toy to my sister's son and he also liked it alot.
