The picture led me to believe that the cord was elegantly brought down inside one of the posts of the lamp. However, in fact the cord was airbrushed out of the picture, and dangles next to the pull chain. Ugly.

Also, the description says "paper shade", but it has much more to do with plastic than paper.

Cheaply made overall. Not worth $20, let alone $49.99.

This floor lamp is actually a Target "Home" brand product. My husband and I purchased the lamp in our local Target store just a few weeks ago, where we had the advantage of seeing the product fully assembled. (Note: the lamp also comes in a black wood that is accompanied by a lighter, whiter shade.) We were impressed that the lamp, which is expensive in appearance, was being offered at such a relatively inexpensive price. Furthermore, we thought that the lamp's buff paper shade would be an ideal match for paper screen which divides our dining and living rooms, and so we bought this lamp for the living room.

Putting it together did take a little time. Also, we had to return to Target for a new light bulb: based on the box's exterior, we had purchased a 150-watt halogen bulb, and we didn't discover until after we had opened the box and read the instructions that this product uses NON-halogen bulbs only. Still, assembly of the lamp was relatively easy, if a bit time-consuming. Although the wood might not be top quality, it looks great, and extras are included to make the finished product look even better, such as end caps for the top of the lamp (to cover the screws) and locking tabs to keep the cord secured down the length of one of the columns so that it is virtually out of sight.

We are extremely pleased with how this lamp appears in our living room. In fact, we liked the floor lamp so much that we returned to Target today to buy the matching Walnut Paper Shade Table Lamp. I would definitely recommend this product!

OMG ..... I absoulutely love this lamp. Took a few minutes to put together and it looks awesome. Everyone who has seen it wants it. It is not overly bulky so fits in perfect. Great for spare room or your room or any room. Note: Is not to be used with 3-way lights or halogens.

I bought this lamp through Target's website. It was simple to assemble and looks good. The walnut finish blends well with my cherry wood bedroom furniture. The shelves are a big plus for me since I have a lot of bric-a-brac. The lamp will be tipsy unless you put something heavy on the bottom shelf.

I love this lamp; the lighting is perfect, very warm and stylish looking. My husband and I got two for our wedding shower, and couldn't be happier. Assembly was a snap; we had the two of them together in 20 minutes while watching TV. The structure is a little unstable on the carpet, if you have kids running around that is. I learned that when a friend's little one bumped it and the oil diffuser I had on the top shelf went every where. Other than a little of the stain coming off with the oil, there was no structural harm done. I did read where someone was complaining about the cord being noticeable; they include tie wraps for you to secure the cord out of sight. You just run it down a pole and you won't notice it unless you're really looking for it. I get nothing but compliments on them when we have company over. We're thinking of buying more for other rooms of the house. I would definitely recommend them. (I'd try to find them in-store before paying that much for shipping, though.)

These are very nice. The shelves are awesome because you don't have to have end tables. You can put your phone on them, candles, nick nacks, etc. The wood is a little lighter brown than I thought the would be, but I still like them.

You get much more style than you actually pay for with this lamp.

It casts a surprising amount of light with a 100 watt bulb considering how opaque the paper shade is; also, it was a cinch to put together. The possible downside is, if you're the type that needs things to line up perfectly, this lamp may not be for you. From a distance, no one, including you, will be able to tell that the wooden slats don't always line up exactly with the boards, but on very close inspection...

Personally, I don't mind the slight misalignment when factored against what I paid, so I'd definitely recommend this piece.

Very nice lamp for the price. Gives a nice soft light with a 60w bulb. Easy to put together and not total crap. Would definitely recommend.

I love this lamp, I love it so much I bought it in the black/red also (for my bedroom). I've gotten so many compliments. This lamp is easy to put together and it's a plus having shelves to accommodate little home decor that you may have. The price is good for the design & quality of the lamp. It added my final touch to my living room. I recommend!!!
