5.0 out of 5 stars Welcome to New Age!!!
Now here's a guy who puts those synthesizers to work! 'Blue Dancer,' 'Shell Game,' 'Bridge Across the Night,'--every tune, with an extraordinary beat--extraordinary in the sense that all it can do is help you to relax--no agitation whatsoever. The melodies are so beautiful! An incredible combination!! As many times as I have heard this CD, 'Blue Dancer,' helped me to...

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
I bought this CD because of the first track, "Blue Dancer" which I heard on GoRadio.

THIS IS NOT THE SAME SONG! It definitely _not_ the same arrangement as GoRadio is webcasting, and as far as I can tell it isn't even the same melody!

The rest of the CD is typical elevator-music new age.

This was one of the first Electronic New Age CDs I purchased. It was a favorite for quite a few years while I was traveling and adventuring. It came to me at a time when I was newly single, and seeking some meaning in my life. Sadly, the disk was destroyed in an accident, and in that early computer age, I had no backup. After searching for over 10 years, I finally found a used copy on here last year.

The tracks are quite solid, and I recommend to anyone that is seeking music to tranquil, and inspire, the soul. The entire CD is worth a continuos listen, and Blue Dancer, Arabesque and Bridge Across the Night do have an epic quality to them. The muscianship and recording is as clean as any by, for example, Andreas Vollenweider. This CD will take you places that you have been, or are longing to be. If you enjoy electronic new age with symphonic rhythm, you will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hard to improve upon a near-flawless album, but Don Harriss does it here, August 8, 2010
This review is from: Shell Game (Audio CD)
One of the best practitioners ever of electronic new age music (even if most people have never heard of him), Don Harriss made one of that genre's most enjoyable albums with 1989's "Abacus Moon." On this 1990 followup, Harriss takes everything that was great about "Abacus Moon" and turns it into something even more fresh and unique. "Blue Dancer," (one of the great, if unheralded, songs to come out of this genre), is a blissful, fantasy-like composition that has a similar melody and kind of sounds like it could be a sunny "after the storm" sequel to Abacus Moon's hauntingly beautiful "Sea Of Storms." The second song on the album "Arabesque," is an invigorating, soul-stirring tune that might sound good if you were soaring through the sky above a beautiful expanse of unspoiled land.
