5.0 out of 5 stars Bedtime Stories September 17, 2009
By Tat
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
I bought this series for my nieces (5 and 3 years old) and from the very first viewing, they were mesmerized. They love them, and not just at bedtime. The stories have meaningful messages as well. Old fashion way of telling stories that kids love. Highly recommended.

Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Great stories from great books brought to life on the screen. My kids love these tales and watch them often. An excellent children's series, even better after watching some of these stories I got online and found the actual books of the stories they showed in this series and the kids were excited to read the books now that they watched the stories and knew them.

5.0 out of 5 stars my kids love this! August 3, 2011
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
when I purchased this set, I wasn't sure if my kids would like it, but, all the other Shelley Duvall videos we have are awesome, so I took a chance...and was not disappointed! my kids love these videos, and they are perfect when it's time for them to "wind down" for the night...each story is not too long, but, just long enough! love this set!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good way to teach kids about nightmares January 18, 2001
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
We have had this movie for only a few weeks and my kids already know it verbatim! They laugh at the silly monsters and it has helped them with their bed time tremendously. They know that the monster in the closet might just be afraid of them too! A good movie if you have little ones that are hard to put to sleep at the end of a long day!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bootsie Barker Bites VHSs August 23, 2001
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
This is a great movie! I laughed out loud. It is intended for children, but parents will enjoy as well. I would suggest for children 4yrs.of age and up. It gives kids a glimpse at what they may look like when having a temper tantrum. I used the video with a group of 4&5 year olds and we discussed Bootsie's behavior and how to deal with anger. They were mesmerized with the movie. We also discussed how Bootsie treated her friend, and in what ways they should treat others. This is the best cartoon video I've ever viewed. I think it was great in it's simplicity and how it viewed like a book. It really brought the book to life. A must see for kids and teachers of children 4-6 yrs!

4.0 out of 5 stars A USEFUL KIND OF STORY TIME FOR TODDLERS & PRE-SCHOOLERS December 21, 2006
Format:VHS Tape
IN A NUTSHELL:

Short and sweet and just right for bedtime for toddlers and pre-schoolers. Essentially, this is a 25 minute video which is comprised of 2 short stories illustrated via animation and narrated by celebrities.

STORY 1: LITTLE TOOT AND THE LOCH NESS MONSTER: Narrated by Rick Moranis

Little Toot, a character we saw in Disney animation of the pre-war period has returned. This time he ends up meeting and saving the famous, by very nice, Loch-Ness monster. While other tugs are literally hunting 'Nessie' down, Little Toot makes a new friend in the mysterious monster and creates a diversion to facilitate Nessie's escape from the hunters.

STORY 2: CHOO-CHOO 'THE STORY OF THE LITTLE ENGINE THAT RAN AWAY' Narrated by Bonnie Raitt

This is a story about a little train that decides to go see the world on her own. Before long she is regretting her choice and fortunately gets back to the train yard before anything really bad happens to this youngster on tracks.

BOTTOM LINE:

Not available yet on DVD, these videos are getting hard to find. Children do find these stories calming, and they do seem to fill a gap between reading and video that youngsters seem to appreciate and benefit from.
