Now I know that we all react to entertainment/art on a very emotional level, and perhaps I was just emotionally 'insync' with the writer/director (usually a really bad sign..) of this movie. It is honest, poignant, well-written, very well filmed (the surfing scenes.. on a budget of 500k?), and extremly well-acted. And Trevor Wright... he is in virtually every scene and he never disappoints. Tina Holmes is totally convincing. Yes, it's a 'gay' movie, but your mom would puddle too! Please check it out! BTW -- listen to Shane Mack's songs ('Lie to Me') in this movie (the soundtrack is a great Amazon.com download). He's a breakout artist, I predict!

I agree with the other opinion. This score and soundtrack went beautifully with the movie, and it's just a great CD overall. Great to chill to! I like every track.

I have seen many many films of this genre, and this is without a doubt one of the best. The chemistry between Brad Rowe and Trevor Wright is superb - very few films can match this. Everyone is right-on with their acting... they talk and react like REAL people do. Buy this one because it is one you'll want to see more than once. The accompanying soundtrack could not have been better.

I just saw the movie Shelter very good, but the song Lie to me by Shane Mack is a must have to song gets 5 stars out of 5

Some of the acting is goofy, but for the most part, these relatively unknown actors (and actress) do a superb job. The understory about the young boy without a real father figure is touching and plays well into the real story of two young men who discover that they love each other. One is already comfortable with being gay; the other is just beginning to deal with it. The Hollywood ending is unbelievable but hey, it's a movie. I've watched this one over and over and over.

BEAUTIFUL soundtrack to a BEAUTIFUL movie! Shane Mack's soothing voice sets the mood. Shelter is not just a "gay man's coming of age" story, it's a very sweet story about a young man discovering himself and dealing with difficult family dynamics & responsibilities. Great acting, cute guys, beautiful setting in the CA beach/surfing world! If you liked "Big Eden" and/or "Just a Question of Love" (French) you'll love Shelter. Love it! Love it! Love it!

I have seen alot of films of Gay love and Gay Coming out and I have to say this is one of the best films I have ever seen and I noticed by the awards it has won I am not the only one. I recieved this item in a timely manner and in perfect condition. Which After Seeing the movie you Yearn for the soundtrack.

I was so surprised how much this movie grabbed me and held me. The music was perfect and I agree too that the acting was very authentic. The love scenes were so beautifully tender and even more so when I learned the actors are straight. It's an incredible movie and a piece of magic with acting, story, music and camera that RARELY shows up in gay cinema. I harped on my friends to see it and they all called me crying afterwards on how beautiful it was. Rent it again and watch the extras-love the conversations when the actors and director talk about their own movie. Hilarious. The music video of the main song-the song that made me want this CD so much. Thanks guys for making such a great film for all of us!

Many times a soundtrack only makes sense after you see the movie. Each song reminds you of some scene or actors. But this one works without the image. If you saw the picture certainly will make you remember this fantastic love gay history, but if you don't never mind. This soundtrack contains beautiful songs that you can hear on your car or at home, or with some friends at the beach. Buy it!
