I did not purchase this unit from amazon. But I did purchase it elsewhere. This auto shelter rules. it was easy to put together, and its very well designed. took me a little while to build it, But I was just taking my time. it was fun. There's not a billion screws,nuts and bolts like some others you could buy, ..Every thing just snaps together like its supposed to. And when your finished .. you have a very sturdy well anchored auto garage structure.

This item was very easy to set up.... but it is a two person job. We did it in about three hours complete.

This is a much better built unit than the one I purchased a few years ago. Easier to set up and better construction.

We ordered and received before the expected date, so we are very happy to know that our firewood will be nice and dry all winter.

I was expecting a little difficulty putting this together so I had a friend come over. While waiting for him I opened the box and starting doing some assembly. Within an hour it was up before he got there. I really have no complaints about this.

my husband bought one back in 2004 after the FL hurricanes .... and now all of the plastic covering has ripped off .. it wasn't in the direct sunlight but over time just started to deteriorate ... the metal stand is still there but with no cover ... so if you want to use it for long term storage I would go with something else

Caution about the cover seems.
Good over all product. However, first cover lasted a year and separated at the seem, Shelter Logic replaced. Second cover separated at the seem. Past original warranty, not sure if they'll replace again.

I have (actually had) the 12ft x 24ft x 10ft version of this unit. It barely lasted more than one year. Less than one year after I installed it, both end panels failed. A couple of months later, the entire unit self-destructed during a wind storm. Not a really big storm - nothing else around the home was damaged or even moved around. I only just rescued my truck and motorcycle in the middle of the night. The nylon straps can not survive the Arizona sun, and the fabric showed serious signs of wear in less than one year. The thin cable that holds the legs to the anchors is just not up to the job. Once one leg gets free in a wind, the game is over.

If you properly install this unit, it will last you for 3 years. I bought one in 2007 and I am looking to replace it now, in 2011. I could have replaced it in 2010, as the back and front panel grommets had ripped. I live on a VERY windy island in Ontario, Canada, where we get a lot of snow, which I generally clean off after a storm. I will buy another one of this model if I can still find it. Just a note about anchoring... get yourself some 9-12 inch nails (2 per leg) and hammer them into the ground so that they cross each other underground. Do not use galvanised, regular untreated steel nails are better, as they rust they get bigger inside the ground and act as a better anchor.
Repairing grommets is also simple... buy some of the repair tape at your hardware store (made of same fabric as tarp) then wrap a 7-8 inch length around the missing grommet, then install a new grommet (gromet repair kits are also available at your local hardware store). Not sure about the US hardware stores, but Canadian Tire has all you need.

I bought this unit. It lasted less than 90 days and collapsed. Very cheaply made. You won't get 12 months out of it. A TOTAL wast of money. The company will not stand behind their product. Less than 90 days and they wouldn't do anything. Their guarantee has more holes in it than donut factory.
