I just couldn't believe that Casey (who is supposed to be incredibly smart) wasn't able to tell that the Irish guy she's tutoring is her live-in boyfriend Holden. You know, the guy she was going to bed with every night, has been living with for week after week. His costume isn't really even that extensive either. It's a change of clothes, a fake beard, a hat, and a set of glasses. She's never really stated to be overly gullible or lacking common sense, but it's a little hard to believe that she would fall for any of this. Most people would have at least raised an eyebrow to a guy coming in and claiming that he's an ex-member of the IRA, that he's loaded, and that he wants a tutor from a rather nondescript local college to secretly teach him math. What doesn't help is that at one point he's introduced to a table full of people who know him and nobody recognizes him at all.
That I could have overlooked if not for the fact that the characters were pretty underdeveloped and somewhat unlikable. I kept wanting Casey to break free of Holden, who was pretty much a shiftless jerk.Read more ›
