A good book describing the unique personality of the greatest Jewish thinker of the 20th century-Rabbi AI Kook. Presents stories from Rav Kook's biography in anecdotal form. Good introduction to Rav Kook's biography

Utter drivel. This should never have been released on an unsuspecting public. Entitled 'biography of Rav Kook' this is more in the vein of children schmaltzy romantic story -aged 6-9. There appears to have been no editing or proof reading as the book is jam packed full of irritating typos. Would have returned this slim volume if at all possible. Please consider carefully before wasting good money!

A brief introductory biography for young people,

This review is from: Shepherd of Jerusalem: A Biography of Rabbi Abraham Isaac Kook (Paperback)
This book does an excellent job of outlining the life of Rav Kook. It shows a clear appreciation of his greatness as both religious leader and Jewish thinker. It shows how his great love of Torah and of Israel were combined in his pioneering Religious Zionist thought. It illustrates his great courage and determination in standing for the principles of Judaism. It touches upon his great contribution to modern Israel. It commends his openess and willingness to embrace the secular pioneers who were involved in building the Jewish state. It shows too how he worked to unite the Jewish people.I would have liked to have seen more examples of Rav Kook's writing and thought in this work. But on the whole it does an outstanding job of providing for young people and students an introduction to the man who was without question one of the greatest Jewish public figures of the twentieth century.

Not a Biography,
This review is from: Shepherd of Jerusalem (Paperback)
I buyed, thinking was a biography and it's not!. It's a story with facts of Rav Kook life writen in a biography way but not a serious one. For a giant like Rav Kook I don't like the way the author describe his life...Rav Kook deserved more.
