4.0 out of 5 stars Holmes vs. the Opera Ghost and Mr. Hyde, December 23, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sherlock Holmes: The Cases of the Twisted Minds (Paperback)
I really enjoyed this book. Contrary to the previous reviewer's statement there is nothing more horrifying, gory, or grisly than in any other Holmes story. There's no blood or anything of that nature. You really have to be a fan of both Sherlock Holmes and The Phantom of the Opera, or the Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde to enjoy it. The plot of the Jekyll and Hyde tale sticks very close to the original story, while the Phantom tale has more of Susan Kay's novel mixed in, but the words are taken straight from Leroux at times. The Art work is great and is reminiscent of 19th century etchings. While it is a little cliched at times, it's still a good read and something cool to add to your Holmes, Phantom, or Jekyll and Hyde collection.
