We love Jim Weiss and have almost all his audio books for kids. We love this one in particular because I have had a hard time finding a good abridged version of the stories for my children, age 5 and 8 at the time. They love these stories and would listen to them again and again. We ended up borrowing Sherlock Holmes movies from the library. The BBC series with Jeremy Brett was their favourite.

I purchased several of the Whitehall/Jim Weiss CDs for a long car trip for our family vacation, and we really enjoyed them all. Listening fun for our whole family...from 5 years old to 47!

My almost 6 year old son loves this collection of stories told by Jim Weiss. He has completely fallen in love with Sherlock because of this wonderful introduction to the subtle intrigue and adventure of the Sherlock Holmes mysteries, and even dressed up as Sherlock for Halloween (even though only the parents knew who he was). I would say this collection would be appropriate for ages much older as well, as they seem rather true to the originals, and Weiss is enjoyable even for adults to listen to.

My children have been listening to Jim Weiss for about five years now. Yes, the stories are modified for children and not the originals. However, his storytelling provides a way for them to become interested in the original stories. After listening to this, my son asked if we had any books about Sherlock Holmes. He is now interested in knowing more. About a week ago he told an older neighbor, with great excitement, about one of the stories. Jim Weiss's CDs are a great way to get kids interested in reading other books or listening to other stories.
