The Sherpa Adventure Gear Men's Ladakh Jacket offers pleasing warmth for the weight while using eco-friendly materials. Made from recycled polyester ripstop, and filled with PrimaLoft Eco insulation, the Ladakh jacket is an exercise in conservation of finite resources and of your space and body heat. This jacket weighs a mere 12.4 ounces, and packs into its own pocket for easy carrying without requiring a separate suitcase. Articulated elbows let you link arms with your lady while you stroll along the banks of the Seine or plant a ski pole as you bootpack towards a traverse. The adjustable hood and hem let you tighten up the borders when the wind ratchets up a notch. The Ladakh jacket uses PrimaLoft Eco insulation to achieve a level of warmth not often found in such a light jacket. PrimaLoft Eco is a synthetic insulator made from post-consumer recycled material that resembles down in shape and function. Like down feathers, this insulation consists of tiny, fine fibers that, when aggregated, form air pockets. Warm air from your body is trapped by the air pockets and prevented from escaping into the environment, all to keep you warm. Likewise, PrimaLoft is highly compressible, meaning you can mash the jacket into a teensy corner of your pack without adversely affecting its ability to keep you warm. Deliberately engineered to resist water penetration, this synthetic insulation offers longer-wearing water resistance, breathability, and quick drying when the water wins. Insulation works only where it exists. To that end, the Ladakh jacket contains strategic quilting lines, reducing the chances of insulation-free spots (cold zones) on your body. The hidden thumb loops also contribute to warmth, as they help keep your sleeve down under a hardshell or while you're reaching for an awkward hold.
