I've had the medium-sized Sherpa bag for two years and I am very happy with it. My 12 pound cat fits well in this carrier and even has room to turn around. Also, kitty never overheats in there because it is well-ventilated.
For air travel:
All of the openings are zippered so there is no chance of a mid-flight, stealth cat escape (if you've traveled with a cat, you know what I mean.) It's easy to carry and I have never had trouble getting it on an airplane, though, it does stick out from under the seat a bit. Normally, it is my only carry-on because it has enough room in the extra zippered pockets for my wallet, tickets, a small towel, magazines and a book.

I must say, I was willing to pay this amount because I thought I was getting a better quality item. After a only a few weeks, this bag caved in and my puppy would no longer go into it. I tried several times and ways to fix it, but it would not stay up.
I contacted the company and they told me to "stuff it with wet towels and spray it heavily with starch..." are they kidding? Then I found a reference to this problem under their web site FAQ's. So, they are knowingly selling a defective item and expecting the customer to then fix it. They never responded to my second email... I could not return it because it had been used.

This is a company that does NOT stand behind it's products. I found a much less expensive one at target, and it works much better!

Do not waste the extra $ on this item.

I have three of these for my three felines. Everyone in our family (cats and human parents) likes these bags. I can line up three of these bags in the second seat of my Suburban and seat belt everyone in for trips to the veterinarian.

I like that the cats feel secure in the bags. Be warned if you have intelligent animals you might want to tie the zippers together. One of my little Einstein's figured out how to use a claw to unzip the bag. We now use twist ties to secure the zippers. The zip ties work like a charm. Now the cats are securely in the bag.

The removable fleece-like pad is also nice in case the animal get scared, it is washable. For storage the bags fold flat and don't take up much room. When you are juggling luggage and cats the shoulder strap is quite handy.

We liked our bags so much that we recommend them to our brother-in-law for his poodle. He works for an airline and his dog flies in this bag with no problem. Please note, this bag is only suitable for in the aircraft, not in cargo.

If you travel with your pets I highly recommend this product. Out family has been very pleased with the purchases.

My puppy "Tina Turner" was a happy little girl during her trip from Tampa to Pa. At 14 pounds she fit well. It went under the plane seat easily. Easy to pull and sturdy straps and zippers. Her first trip was as easy as "Rollin... rollin.. rollin down the river" Lin - Land O lakes Florida

This bag is very sturdy, comfortable and spacious. My mini doxen loves going in there all by herself. I am sure she can't wait to ride in it when we use it in the plane. There is a good sized pocket in the back and the strap evens doubles as a leash. I think that this bag is just as good as the more expensive Sherpa bag. I reccommend it if you are traveling or just want to tote your dog around.

the zippers are nylon..and the came apart with my cat inside. the bag is way past the 1 year warrenty but considering the cost. the 3-4 times it was ever used and then near disaster you need to be careful. i paid a lot of money to make sure my cat was SAFE when she had to leave the house. the zipper on the front is a total waste it will not rezip now.

have a 12lb tabby that fits comfortably.use for back and forth to vet.solid construction and easy to carry.would buy again.

I was flying with my 14 year old cat for the first time. I couldn't get him to take a sedative and anticipated a dreadful experience for both of us. It actually went very well and I credit this carrier. For one thing, I was able to load my cat from the top which was infinitely easier and less stressful. The cushy pad was velcroed down so my cat was comfortable and didn't slide around. He could see out through the mesh sides and I was able to pet him by unzipping the top zipper slightly and reaching in. My cat is 13 lbs and I thought this carrier was a good size for him. It also fit under the seat in front of me on the plane (I don't think the large one would have). I wish I would have bought this carrier years ago!

Bought this to bring my puppy home on the plane. It is well constructed and fit perfectly under the seat. It's her favorite place to rest and is also great for outings in the car because I can put the seat belt through it and she's secure. Unfortunately, she's growing fast and will soon outgrow it, but it was worth the price and I'm actually considering buying the next size. I would definitely recommend this carrier.

That's an excellent bag at very good price. I already went on the flight with cat and it was perfect as she couldn't manage to open it like previous times with other Sherpa bag. The bag is light, looks discreet, easy to carry on shoulder and my cat like to sleep in it all the time. I'm very happy with my purchase.
