please measure your pet before ordering as pet carriers are non returnable due to hygienic reasons. when measuring for the length take tape measure and measure from the base of the neck collar area to base of the tail this is your length measurement and it needs to be under 16" in order for your pet to fit. to mesure the height which is the floor to the shoulder it should be no greater than 10". please measure and donot go by your pets weight when ordering travel carriers as we all know pets are like people they come in all different shapes and sizes. this carriers will fit under an airline seat with the major carriers and is airline approved.

I just received this Sherpa pet carrier for an upcoming flight. Although it is well designed and built, it is much smaller than advertised. The dimensions that are listed are the exterior dimensions and not the interior dimensions. The problem is that the wheels that from underneath and pad inside of the carrier take up 2.5 inches of room. And the exterior length is an inch shorter than listed. Not bad if your pet is smaller than those measurements, but important to consider when buying. I am going to opt for a carry model by sherpa instead of the wheeled version. The larger wheeled version is pushing the limits of the recommended size by the airlines (and is not in stock anyhow). Well built, nice looking and an instant hit for my pooch, but just to confining for her size. My Papillion is 11' high and under 9 pounds with a length of 16". I measured 17" long x 11" wide by 8" tall on the interior.

I've had no problems with this product tipping over. There are many places to hook the tow-strap, so perhaps the other reviewer here chose a poor location. I prefer the top left and right rings on the end with the wheels that swivel, and lifting that end only a tiny bit, if at all. That keeps the center of gravity low. The other alternative is to hook it to the top middle loops on the front and back , and pull it like a suitcase, but dragging on the ground.

The back end has fixed wheels, so this is like pulling a grocery cart. Big wheels makes it ride very smoothly.

It has a high-density foam handle on the strap that is pretty comfortable. Has lots of pockets, and comes with a leak-proof bed "tray" that slides out. For easy cleaning. The 2 fuzzy liners hook on with velcro to dissuade vigorous diggers.

The medium claims to carry up to 16 pound pets.

It can be configured with the sides solid or just the mesh. It has a solid bottom board so it doesn't fold or scrunch up when you pick it up.

Trivia: Sherpa is the name of the product owner's dog.

I love this bag...I just bought it for a flight to NY with my 9.5 lb toy poodle and we had no problems whatsoever...I'm not sure if many people even knew that I had a dog on the flight. I started letting him get used to the bag several weeks before the flight so when I zipped him up inside at the airport he was fine.Wheeling him around the airport was so convenient. I also wheeled him all over Manhattan in it...he loves it. I open the top when possible and he sits in it and sightsees...people were taking his picture along with the Empire State Building and Time Square...lol. So glad that I bought this bag.
