Greek and Roman mythology is normally one of the easier sells for children, full of proto-superheroes, nightmarish monsters, and petty gods, but to help lure those unswayed by classicism’s allure, the Mythlopedia series spices things up with sassy artwork, a pastel color scheme, and an OMG sensibility. Hera, Athena, and other strong-willed goddesses are covered in She’s All That!, which also includes entries on the divine guilds of the Fates, the Furies, and the Graces, who are decked out in pink bikinis and likened to the Kardashian sisters. Aside from the heaps of information coming from all angles on just about every page, each book also contains a decent family tree, a rudimentary star chart, and lists of further reading. Will these books make a true mythology lover’s skin crawl? Absolutely. I purchased this book after I bought another book in this great series. This book is all about the Greek goddesses. It's funny and educational. I am a teacher and bought it as a suplimental tool to help my students and they loved it. It is educational, entertaining and filled with pictures. It's a great book! I am glad that I have the entire series and it is still being read by my students, long after we finished Greek mythology. It is also a great companion to the Percy Jackson books!

My daughter learned a lot from this entire series. We both love to sit down and read all of the Mytholopedia books together. The books aren't very big but they are packed with info and entertainment. There are a lot of fun illustrations and the writing is clever and current. These books are a great way to get kids interested in Mythology.

I can't possibly write a good enough review for this book because there are so many fantastic things about it, I can't do it justice. Let's just say that it is the best quick-reference guide for mythology (although this one is about females) that I've ever used. It's not just great for kids. I'm a strong visual learner, and this book just makes it so easy for me to quickly gather facts and puts them visually in a context that I can remember them, too (which is usually hard for me). The comics, the format, the "friends" and "foes" Facebook-style sidebar, the top 10 things to know about each goddess...I could go on and on...it's perfect. And it's FUNNY. Hera's Big Journal of Revenge--hilarious! Dial-a-Muse--ingenious! First Annual Mount Olympus Beauty Contest--gold! Family Tree--way to go! I love the tongue-in-cheek touched-up photos of greek pictures and statues. The names are consistent (Greek--including "Heracles"--it's about time), and they even give the Roman equivalent. There are even URL suggestions for further information. I highly recommend this book, for friends, kids, and libraries.
