Editorial Reviews

Review

"Rochelle Schweizer's She's the Boss unpacks for the reader Nancy Pelosi's unmistakably radical agenda for America. The first biography to expose how the Speaker maintains her firm grip on power and how she gets her colleagues to go along with her big government takeovers even when it's not in their interests. Every citizen needs to understand the real change she has planned for the country."
-Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the House of Representatives

"Rochelle Schweizer presents compelling evidence that Speaker Nancy Pelosi is a political boss operating on overdrive and has turned her House into a corrupt institution by pulling the levers of political power for her benefit as well as that of her allies."
-Andrew Breitbart, founder of Breitbart.com

"Many Americans have wondered how an official with such a wide-eyed leftist agenda and such arrogance could become the highest-ranking female politician in U.S. history? In She's the Boss, Rochelle Schweizer reveals how Pelosi became Speaker of the U.S. House using the same ruthless techniques she learned from her father's world of corrupt Baltimore boss politics. Schweizer reveals how Pelosi exploits Americans' respect for women and grandmothers to hide her radical leftwing agenda. This book is a must read for anyone who wants to truly understand this widely unpopular, arrogant, and overreaching political boss and shows how the House she built may be about to collapse."
-Michelle Easton, president, Clare Booth Luce Policy Institute

"Nancy Pelosi is the most powerful woman in America and also the most dangerous. She represents only a narrow sliver of the views of most Americans, yet she would impose those views on the country. Rochelle Schweizer explains how Pelosi rose to power and the far left agenda she espouses. She's the Boss is critical to understanding what's going on in Washington today and Pelosi's pivotal role."
-Fred Barnes, executive editor, Weekly Standard

Too bad the journalist here felt she didn't need to learn such a habit from Pelosi.
G. Charles Steiner
This book reads like a sleazy hack journalist trying to paint a politician as sleazy, pointing lots of fingers, and digging up every skeleton she can find.
Amazon Lady
Even Pelosi's fellow "progressive" travelers will be surprised at the extent of her corruption and ignorance.

I bought this book because I thought it would be a delicious scare story, like a long-awaited Stephen King novel.

It was nothing like that. Scary, yes. Riveting, yes. But also very sad and depressing. Mrs. Pelosi's thinking is so skewed, so dangerous, that it is depressing.

The book started, I thought, kind of slowly, but as I read more, I realized it had to be that way, as the author began peeling back the layers of the Speaker's background and prior activities. Fortunately, the author did this slowly, because as I began to digest the meaning and implications of what I was reading, I had to stop at points because it was too sad to go on.

In the end though, the author amply proves that Mrs. Pelosi is nothing but a gangster; a capo di tutti capi, which is all she ever wanted to be. She illegally enriches herself at the expense of others; she's a bully; she has no capability whatsoever of considering any viewpoint save her own, but that's OK, because she believes she is without sin. (Pelosi has stated that she is "on the side of the angels," but Pelosi herself never clarifies whose angels they are. This book will give you a very broad hint, though.)

The author has no shocking revelations to make. All the points in the book are things we all knew intuitively about Mrs. Pelosi anyway. However, the author paints a "big picture"; a picture of the forest AND the trees, and viewed from this new vantage point, you can clearly see Pelosi's words and actions in context.

This book was an excellent Kindle read, and I highly recommend it. Even Pelosi's fellow "progressive" travelers will be surprised at the extent of her corruption and ignorance.

This review is for: She's the Boss: The Disturbing Truth About Nancy Pelosi (Hardcover)

She's called the Boss and she's called smart. Even the author, who doesn't like her, thinks she's smart. That's so sad. This woman named Nancy Pelosi is an Italian Catholic Democrat from Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of an Italian Catholic Democrat politician who was once a mayor and then a senator. She was born in 1940, before World War II. Later, she went to Trinity College. Where'd she get the weird "Leftist" ideas that made her the politician she is today? Not from her Italian family, not from her church, and certainly not from her Catholic college. Does the author investigate to try to find out the source of this "unconventionality"? No. That's bad -- for a journalist. The author doesn't even mention anywhere throughout the entire book the plain fact that Nancy Pelosi is a member of a non-governmental organization that influences the ideas of almost all members of Congress -- the Council on Foreign Relations. Even WeAreChange knows Nancy Pelosi is a member. But does the author of this book mention this? She appears clueless, which is maddening. She also appears to have deliberately tried to hide some of the truth of what makes Nancy run, even while appearing to be more Republican than Democrat. That's bad.

Look, Nancy is the kind of gal who understands what her father taught her: politics is a game -- of numbers and coalitions. Let's not get sentimental about the Constitution and patriotism, folks. Pelosi plays a "game." As the author states, Nancy Pelosi rose to power "not on the basis of ideas but by pulling the master levers of a fine-tuned machine -- raising money, demanding loyalty, and enforcing uncompromising discipline when necessary.

This was a very, very informative book. I was intrigued from the first page and couldn't put the book down. The author quotes from material and offers first-hand experiences as well to give an accurate picture of an egocentric, domineering person who thinks she has the best plan, has done the best thinking, can control the situation better than anyone else. I fear this woman!

Nancy Pelosi...The most dangerous woman in America. Most people see Nancy Pelosi exactly the way she wants them to: cultured San Franciscan politician form an esteemed family. Beneath the Chanel suit and pearls is a true political boss. Don't be fooled by her image as a caring, grandmotherly public servant. Nancy Pelosi is all business. Nancy Pelosi is the most powerful woman in America and also the most dangerous. She represents only a narrow sliver of the views of most Americans, yet she would impose those views on the country. She rose to power and espousing far left agenda. She claims to act for the benefit of the American people, yet enriches her family's portfolio through pet legislation and personal financial dealings...My personal disdain for Nancy Pelosi is equal for my dislike of Dirty Harry Reid in the Senate...They both turn my stomach. Read this book if you want to truly understand this widely unpopular, arrogant, and overreaching political boss which shows how the HOUSE she built came to a collapse....Copyright 2010.--Get the book, read it and decide for yourself.
