Jeff Henshaw, partner to Jackson Witt, in construction, hired a gal to help straighten up their office and keep the records.

Imagine Jackson's surprise and consternation when he discovers Mandy Parkerson is pregnant. A construction site is not a safe place for a pregnant female, much less any female. Boy, was he ticked.

Mandy had a baby to support and this job payed more than any she could get in Denver. Julien sounded like a nice place to raise a child.

She had to bargain with Witt in order to even start the job. He gave her a week to pull the office into shape. In the weeks time she discovered a discrepancy in an invoice. Then the fur would fly when she reported it.

Good interaction with Mandy and Jeff. But mostly between the two wary people who could not get into any kind of commitment emotionally.
Mandy, because the father of her baby wanted her to have an abortion.
Jackson, because he had already suffered the lose of a wife and child.

The steps to falling in love are never easy. Mandy wanted, maybe, a closeness of friendship and resisted love. Jackson just wanted Mandy, for a no strings attached relationship. Jeff just wanted both of them to be happy.

Mandy was abandoned and alone and brought out his every protective instinct. Jackson wanted to guard his wounded heart against ever falling in love again. A very good tender love story.

i am writing this review without having finished it.unfortunatly the copy i bought did not contain all of the pages and i am waiting for a replacment copy from the publisher but from what i did read it was a sweet story of a women getting over heartbreak and a man trying to find new life after a horrible accident.
