5.0 out of 5 stars It's About Time
When I first say the title of this book I asked myself what kind of issues she got, she kinda cute: she need mo' money from her baby daddy, her car broke down and she want her baby daddy to pay for it even though he's married now and moved on. I picked it up, put it back, left the mall. Then I turned around, went back to the store, and bought it. That made me late to...

2.0 out of 5 stars Why so many high reveiws?
The cover of this book is misleading. I thought I would be reading about a lady or man with issues in the bedroom or something to that affect, not about a lady obsessed with another lady for cheating with her man. This book was written poorly. The characters were just thrown together. I can't tell you what ONE of the characters looked like. I had no favorites, which is...

That made me late to the Child Support Office and my baby momma was trippin. But whatever.

I started it as soon as I hung up on my baby momma and finished it in 4 hours. It's about time, somebody told the story of a simple chick who didn't realize that she had a good man and what would happen when she didn't take care of him. I tried to tell my baby momma the same thing but whatever.

Aliette had issues from when she was a young chicken head. Everybody loves a freak, but she was stone cold ho'. It had nothing to do with the fact that she loved sex, she didn't love herself. She took other peoples emotions and toyed with them until she met Sinclair. Sinclair met Aliette one day, played nice, and planed her revenge. Sa-weeeeet!

What I got out of this book is this: No matter how well we treat some of our women, SOME of them will never be satisfied!!!! Aliette hit a gold mind with being blessed with Sinclair's friendship. Sinclair stood as a WOMAN, who wasn't ashamed to confront her emotions, against a wanna be woman, who was selfish, self centered and didn't care whose feelings she hurt. And Sinclair STILL had a heart, saw that Aliette had no inner self, and put aside the issue at hand to save another sistah. After she blew her spot up of course.

All I'm saying is when is the next one coming out

4.0 out of 5 stars Oh Drama, February 5, 2005

"Revenge is sweet, but even sweeter when served by the hands of another," is what Sinclair Welch was told by her mother while growing up. After receiving evidence of her husband's indiscretions with not one, but two women, she disregards her mother's words and takes matters into her own hands.

As chance would have it, Aliette Pearly walks into Sinclair's life at a vulnerable moment. Sinclair recognizes her as one of the women who ruined her marriage and sets her plan for revenge in motion. Sinclair befriends her with the ulterior motive of ruining her, but with Aliette's destructive behavior and troubled past, she may self-destruct.

Stephanie Johnson has penned a drama-filled novel that could put any daytime soap opera to shame. SHE'S GOT ISSUES is a sexually charged, over-the-edge mix of drama and romance, and I could not get enough. There is also an underlying message of forgiveness, which was a key factor in the characters overcoming their issues. There were a few editorial issues, but aside from that I enjoyed the novel and have recommended it to friends and family.

4.0 out of 5 stars Serious Issues.... You have to read it!, July 22, 2004
This review is from: She's Got Issues (Paperback)
Whew Lawd is all I can say after reading this book! Talk about issues, this book contains probably the biggest one of all. What would you do ladies, if your man was cheating on you and you happened to come in contact with the woman who ruined your relationship? Would you react immediately or would you bide your time for the right opportunity to react?
Meet Sinclair, a woman scorned and Aliette, a woman who has many issues including sleeping with married men. Not what I expected just by glancing at the title, She?s Got Issues is a well-written expos? on the feelings experienced in a relationship where infidelity has occurred.
There are mental issues for both women, but that?s expected when dealing with a broken heart. While reading, I went through anger with Sinclair, hurt and pain, and the desire to destroy Aliette?s life in the same manner in which Aliette destroyed hers. That?s keeping it real to me. Sinclair is probably the only true friend Aliette has. Aliette isn?t able to maintain a healthy relationship with anyone, not family, not friends, nor men, so Sinclair is her savior in many respects. Certainly she isn?t able to view this in their relationship, but as the book is so aptly titled, She?s Got Issues.
Through the plot twists is an interesting and captivating read. Readers will find themselves wondering what is going to happen next. At every turn of the page, something subtle but necessary to the plot occurs which makes this book hard to put down. Torn between the two characters, the reader becomes intimately involved and to me that is what makes a dynamic story.
Dealing with infidelity, and the journey to discover ones true self, this book is power packed. Stephanie Johnson has a book that she can be proud of. Urban Books has a book they can be proud of, Carl Weber-keep doing your thing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Movie Material, July 6, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: She's Got Issues (Paperback)
This book was great. Stephanie hit on the nail with the heartache a woman feels when she's been betrayed by the man she loves. It's a shame that as sisters, she and Patrice had spent so much time apart. Unfortunately, there are some siblings that are jealous of the other and do anything stir up trouble. In the end though, the devious, Aliette who had low self esteem is face to face with her reality. I hope to see a sequel to this because I'd love to know if Aliette really learned from her mistakes.

Good job Ms. Johnson and love your site!

A well written piece of contemporary literiture that trancends genders (not a male bashing book to say the least)There's a bit of Sinclair in all of us it's natural to circle the wagons when our feelings and emotions have been taken for granted to quench the narcissistic thirst of ones selfish motives. To say this book is about revenge would be a dis-service. It's about atonement, mending the relationships with those who really and have always had your back. Looking in the mirror, are you happy with what you see are you a big enough person to say "I was wrong" Excellent book. To the cynic, "The past shouldn't be hidden from the present, it creates."

1.0 out of 5 stars Issues With This Book, June 4, 2006
This review is from: She's Got Issues (Paperback)
I am so sick and tired of reading books that turn out to be real let-downs!!!

Does any author really know how to write a good book nowadays?

Not once does Stephanie Johson bother to go into great deal about her "round" characters facial descriptions, but the character Mia who is considered a "flat" character gets a full-description of her beautiful features? But why? Mia is not relevant to the overall plot in the book. So, why waste time, writing/focusing on her character?

Help me, I'm really confused???

As a matter-of-fact the book does not even start off very well. I was reading the first couple of chapters shaking my head.

5.0 out of 5 stars ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS BOOK ! ! - A MUST READ !, January 7, 2005

I totally Love it!! I could not put it down, and read it from cover-to-cover when I opened it!

This book is a must-read for all women AND men. It is like a reality-check to the possibilities and consequences - whether known or unknown at the moment of our actions - and those of others involved.

As the story progresses, Sinclair shows us that sometimes things are not really as they seem - especially in a highly charged emotional situation, and we need to stop and re-think our actions, and make other choices.

Sinclair also shows us that despite the devastating, hurtful, and over-powering pain that the people we love, and others inflict upon us, we can survive. And, we can heal, forgive them and ourselves, grow into a better, stronger, more loving, compassionate person, and find true peace and happiness. After accepting these life lessons, Sinclair illustrates how she begins looking forward to the future, and making the necessary changes needed in order to become a happy and spiritually enriched person - to be the person she truly wants to be.

Stephanie has very ingeniously written this story not only for our own better understanding about the complexity of relationships, but also to give us pure enjoyment from the cleverness of her unique writing style at the same time.

I anxiously await her next creation! Yay!!!
