Yay! A collection of female domination stories that women (and men) can actually read without rolling their eyes! As a woman who likes to be "on top," I'm always in search of fresh reading material for entertainment as well as new ideas for playtime. Many women prefer stories that don't just cater to the usual male-centered cliche' Femme Domme fantasies, but are still every bit as nasty, and this book fits the bill. Rachel Kramer Bussel has chosen modern pieces that avoid the porno pitfalls, and that will appeal to both men and women, curious types and seasoned players alike. And since it's all about female dominance, no more skipping around from story to story looking for something of interest.

"She's on Top" is a fun and wild read with a variety of play styles and personalities represented. I especially enjoyed the dominatrix piece, and the cover photo is gorgeous - inspirational in and of itself! Now where did I put my 6" stilettos and male submissive again?

She's On Top is a collection of stories showcasing women in a dominant erotic role with men as their subservients. Despite great advancements in
our social development, our culture is still permeated with sexism and misogyny. That being the case, a book of stories about women taking the lead in the bedroom (and elsewhere) is a refreshing treat. The collection sizzles with promise and potential and fulfills it all in a big way. Much credit to editor Rachel Kramer Bussel for assembling such a fantastic group of stories.

Among my favorites:

Saskia Walker's "The Inner Vixen" describes a very private encounter that unfolds in a very public place. A submissive man senses the
heroine's long to dominate even before she does, and guides her with himself as the offering on the altar of her superiority. With his help, she sheds her chrysalis of conventionality and becomes a radiant (and
whip-wielding) butterfly.

"Working Late" by Andrea Dale is an extremely hot story about sex over webcams that ends with a mind-blowing twist worthy of The Twilight Zone.

The editor's own "His Just Rewards" shows a heroine who can't physically
overpower her larger, stronger partner but more than compensates with
intelligence, erotic cunning and sheer force of will.

"Room 2201" by N.T. Morley explores just how far a man will go to prove
his subservience to his domme. He consents to being ravaged by another man purely so she can have the pleasure of watching.

Teresa Noelle Roberts' "Mark of Ownership" is a wistfully poignant tale of
two lovers who must part and never see each other again - and gives new erotic meaning to the phrase "something to remember me by".

Lovely "Waiting for Me" by MinaRose portrays a dominant wife and submissive husband team who use their sexual dynamic as a salve for the
frustrations of daily life.

My absolute favorite story in She's On Top is Lisette Ashton's "Victoria's
Hand." Set in London in 1890, the story is a small masterpiece of erotic
surprises in which a young woman is proposed to by an earnest young
gentleman. He finds the tables turned on him when this "proper" young
maid shows him exactly who will be in charge of their potential relationship. "Victoria's Hand" ends beautifully with a wicked
laugh-out-loud punch line.

All in all, She's On Top is a fantastic collection. I am excited to read
its companion volume, HE'S ON TOP: Erotic Stories of Male Domination and
Female Submission, also edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel (ISBN: 1573442704)

Rachel Kramer Bussel uses her editor's talents (yet again) to piece together a great collection of stories about female dominance in "She's on Top." Its not the typical, obvious stories of dominance, there is something for everyone. Storylines range from food fetish domination to a story set in 1890's. Its hot!

Okay, I might as well show my cards right away. I have a story in this book, but that means I'm especially glad it's GOOD and hot. In anthologies, like real estate, location matters. I'm not a BDSM insider, but I think we all respond to control and surrender in our erotic lives, and the variety of stories and flavors of power play give this book a broad appeal. (Come on, admit it, you've fantasized about giving yourself up to a stern, but knowing mistress!) RKB has done a great job of assembling sexy, smart and often very witty pieces. My favorites include Lisette Ashton's "Victoria's Hand"--what's not to love about a story with a petticoat-wearing dominatrix and an archbishop?--Noelle Keely's artfully constructed "Ottoman Empress" and Adelaide Clark's luscious "Feeder" which will satisfy more appetites than one. But really, they're all good. I've got a lot of erotica books on my shelf--this is a favorite.

What is there to say? Rachel Kramer Bussel is at it at again! With She's On Top, whether the reader is a top novice, a shy submissive, or a bonafied bottom, this book has it covered with stories from all walks of life (no pun intended.) Some are funnier than others, while many are straight-up serious about the sub-culture of female dominace, either way, this book is a clear, sexy look at the art of women on top.

I can't tell you how much this book is both entertaining and educational. What's not to like about female dominance anyway?

This companion book to "He's on Top" is a sexy romp through female dominance fantasies. Rachel Kramer Bussel's tremendous talent is evident through her writing and her impeccable editorial selection of stories. "She's on Top" is a pleasure to read, and should reside on your nightstand within easy reach. I bought both books, and was lucky enough to attend the release party for the two erotic short-story books. I can't recommend RKB's work highly enough!

Of the 18 stories in this collection, half struck me as stereotypes of the female dominant/male submissive dynamic. I hate those stereotypes so that half of the book is the reason for only 4 of 5 stars. However, the other 9 stories offered either a new view or an interesting twist. These gems are well worth the purchase of the book if stereotypes turn you off while the stereotypes of leather corset and screaming bitch in the the other stories are for those of you who get turned on by that image. My three favorite stories are from Kristina Wright, Lisette Ashton, and Teresa Noelle Roberts whose piece actually made me cry because it was so touching and so very true to some of us with years of experience.

Fantastic stuff. I'm not a fully fledged practising exponent of the BDSM, more of an armchair enthusiast really, but I'm tempted to try some of these red hot ideas out on my husband. Loved the book and it deserves five stars. Have a look at Rachel's other sizzling book, He's on top. And Suzie Van Aartman's100 Percent Erotica will also get your underwear steaming.

Stories of domination and submission usually fall into a pretty narrow spectrum, laden with the traditional accoutrements of BDSM (whips, chains, leather, etc.). While there's no shortage of BDSM imagery, She's on Top manages to move beyond stereotype, examining the eroticism of female domination from a wide range of experiences -- bringing the reader into a Victorian boudoir to witness some distinctly unvictorian action ("Victoria's Hand"), a Wall Street office that has the secretary taking charge ("Suit and Tie"), and a gender-bending fantasy where roles are reversed in more ways than one ("Why Can't I Be You?").

She has an incredible take on eroticism, and I recommend this books--and all of hers, frankly--to novices and experienced folks alike. I can hardly imagine a reader closing these pages and feeling unsatisfied. Please buy, enjoy, and spread the love!
