Seventeen year old April Nelson is not at all happy about being the new girl in town, especially since it's her senior year of high school. When she found out her father's job was being transferred and the family would have to relocate to Pennsylvania, she just knew her life was over. That is, until the first day of school when hottie Lance Dupree walked into her life. Not only is Lance gorgeous, smart, and talented, but he's also a genuinely nice guy! April and Lance are instantly consumed with one another, however, there's one major problem. Lance already has a girlfriend. Her name is Michelle and she is already a thorn in April's side. As much as Michelle continues to stress Lance out, he finds it difficult to break it off with her. Even if he does cut Michelle loose, April may have an even bigger problem. She's crazy about Lance and he is as equally smitten with her, but how will he handle the fact that she is a virgin? April's sure Lance has been sexually involved with Michelle, and is afraid he may not want to wait until she's ready to go all the way. Will Lance feel she's worth waiting for? This story takes young adults on a journey throughout a very sensitive time in their lives. It touches upon weighty topics such as self-respect, safe sex, pregnancy and birth control, college preparation, and the importance of having open communication between parents and teenagers.

This book was great! From the beginning to the end it kept me interested. They characters were as real as the people I went to school with. We need more books like this. Positive in every way imaginable.

This book was great. I enjoyed reading it and really saw personalities and situations similar to real life.
I would LOVE to see a screen adaptation of this. It would be well received and could even become a series - better than Degrassi on Nickelodeon TV.

A very positive and realistic look into the lives of young adults who attempt to navigate through a very important time in their lives -- Senior Year of High School. Dealing with issues that every young adult comes across in one way or another : friendships, relationships, love, sex, peer pressure, college, communication with parents, etc., the journey of April and Lance is absolutely a must read and hopefully will inspire our young people, particularly girls, to believe that they're "Worth Waiting For". You won't be able to put this book down !!!
