I love this book so much, I could kiss it! This book is a bout a pony named Shona and her owner, Polly. After a car accident in which her dad is hurt, Polly is convinced that it is her pony's fault. Mandy knows that deep down, Polly loves Shona, but she doesn't know how to get her to show it. In the end, Polly rides Shona in a parade. I LOVE THIS BOOK!!

This was another book that my daughter (age 6) picked out at the school book drive for me to read to her. This was the second book we read from the Animal Ark series, and like the other we read, it stands pretty well on its own. My daughter enjoyed this story, and I appreciate that the main characters, Mandy and James, are considerate and responsible children. I find such positive characters refreshing. While the main story is about a younger girl, Polly, and her fear of horses, this book also includes a second storyline about a community pagent, and provides a detailed setting for the primary story. This was another fun book to read to my daughter, and should entertain young readers ready for easy chapter books, especially if they are interested in horses.

Mandy Hope's family takes Polly in- because her mom was killed on a freaky acident- while jumping over a high fence, Polly's mom had died, because her horse had a heartatttack. Polly was only three- her mom loved horses. Polly's grandparent, or somedy lived in Welford, but too far. James Hunter meets Shona- and helps Mandy. Polly's afriad of horses. Even gentle Shona.
