This review is from: Shhh (Audio CD)
first of all, the man with no name remix of "The Sleeper" which appears on platipus records vol. 4 does not do the song justice AT ALL! the original is BY FAR better. with that out of the way, this album is absolutely incredable. fans of other platupus artist albums will not be dissapointed! Elliot potter and Wilf frost blend beutiful melodic minor phrases with lush pads, eeiry piano passages, atmospheric sound effects, and hard acid bass into mind altering compositions. each song captures a little bit of time and space, as if for a moment, you as the listener experience a thought, a fealing, a bit of memory captured in the infinate; yet bound ever so gently within the finite medium of this audio experience. occasionally, certain points of a song, upon first listen, caused me to pause for a moment in awe of what i was hearing. it's so nice to finally hear good music from skilled composers again. if you can find this album for sale, i would seriously recomend buying it. it's actually a 2 cd set, from now and zen (which also appears on platipus records vol. 3) to evolution is one disc, and then from summit temple (also on platipus beginners guide along with celestial body and the sleeper) to reunion is the other. according to platipus records's website, http://www.platipus.com/albums.asp?page=moreinfo&type=album&id=31 this album has been discontineued, but u can still hear little sound clips on their web site, along with clips from the rest of their releases
