3.0 out of 5 stars If you don't take this game seriously and you love the series you will enjoy it., May 7, 2007
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: The Shield (CD-ROM)
Okay I know all the serious games nuts who sit for hours at a time playing games will cringe at this release but, for people like me who rarely play games and got this one just for fun because I love the series this game is a real winner.

Being able to be in Vic Mackies shoes is pretty funny and the general theme is pretty cool, if you don't take the not so great player interface or graphics too seriously you will enjoy it but I would say this one is only for fans of the series. It is not a high speed car chase or constant shoot em up type game but for those times when you want a nto so challenging game that is actually quite playable for the money this one isn't too far off.

1.0 out of 5 stars Glitchy, *itchy.. and sucky.., September 14, 2009
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: The Shield (CD-ROM)
I'll start by saying I LOVE the fX series "The Shield" and was kind of excited to play a game with a new story set in this world. Unfortunately for the PC there are glitches galore, unresponsive gameplay, and just illogical set ups.. and this is the first MINOR level.. then there's a silly stealth element that just makes you go.. what the heck.. is this Sam Fischer badly done of Vic Mackey?

I can't fault the creators for wanting to explore a grittier cop world.. but they really chose a very very VERY bad developer to bring this idea along. I really do wish they would give this property a second shot, as I think it'd definitely be worth it.. considering some of the rich plot lines in the later seasons.

I picked this game up for 5 bucks.. and I felt like it was highway robbery.. that's really the best ONE line I can think of to sum up my thoughts on the "game".

4.0 out of 5 stars For fans of the series., December 2, 2007
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: The Shield (CD-ROM)
If you are a fan of the series you will probably enjoy this game as you can focus on the fact that the voice talent fromt he series is in the game and you get to play as Vic and other tidbits. Rather than realizing the repetitive comments from the bad guys are REALLY annoying. Or that controlling is sometimes disorienting (at least on PC version). And the little interrogation techniques (i.e. sticking their mug on the stove or in a barrel of oil) are even lackluster and repetitive. But its still pretty fun game, because again you get to be Vic Mackey. Just don't try to overthink this game, looking for depth will get you nowhere.
