5.0 out of 5 stars Clearly written treatment of some very sophisticated concepts, November 3, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Shift: The Revolution in Human Consciousness (Hardcover)
It was a pleasure to read this explanation of where humankind is headed, why, and how. Owen Waters has come up with a clear, concise and easily understood book on where humanity has been, and why we are now on the verge of a leap of consciousness. I always wondered how this can possibly take place with so many people in the world seemingly stuck in the mundane. This book explains how the shift can still take place. I feel better about humanity's future and with my own efforts at personal development. My personal quest for enlightenment always seemed to be too selfish in light of what's happening on a global basis, and I felt that any efforts to really change the world was an exercise in futility. It felt like I was spitting in to the wind. This book explains why these personal efforts are not futile, and how one individual can make a real difference.

The only criticism I have is with the layout of the book, i.e. the actual formatting of the text. There's lots of blank area, and the spacing between paragraphs seems oddly wide. Although it's 160 pages, if the spacing was conventional it would likely have saved about 20 pages. It was just a little weird, and the text appearance reminded me of high-pitched sales flyers one receives as junk mail. But the actual content is inspiring and important. There is a lot of great information packed into this relatively short book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just finished my 3rd reading......., November 19, 2005
This review is from: The Shift: The Revolution in Human Consciousness (Hardcover)
and I get more out of it each time. The Shift is profound in it's concept of the way in which humanity can save itself and truly evolve into the spiritual species it IS, in fact, intended to be.

Owen Waters shows us clearly and concisely what is happening behind the scenes of what we see before our eyes. There is a "movement" afoot driven by Infinite Being for a change in global thinking, human evolution and manifestation.

This, and so much more, is presented in a beautiful format that is fascinating to read and wonderful to digrest.

Treat yourself, the World and your loved ones. Buy The Shift and revel in it!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The path to the new reality, January 27, 2006
By
This review is from: The Shift: The Revolution in Human Consciousness (Hardcover)
Here is a marvelous new book about transformation, yesterday, today and tomorrow. The
Shift shows us the path to the New Reality; discovering your true potential and becoming
a whole person in body, mind and spirit.

Author, seeker and visionary Owen Waters illuminates the road for Cultural Creatives,
that growing segment of our population who want to develop a new way of life. He
describes them as "...cynical of media-fed information, and want to find a new political
philosophy that works in today's reality. They are not materialistically driven, and typically
have their finances and spending under control." If this describes who you are, or want to
be, here is a book for you!

The Shift is the mass migration of humanity into the second tier of consciousness. The
first tier bears the characteristics (memes) of basic, personal survival; clans; courage,
survival of the fittest; finding order and purpose in life; achievement, striving to succeed;
community and caring. The second tier, on the other hand,"... comes from freedom from
all of the fears of the prior memes, and, finally, the freedom for human cognition to focus
upon its true possibilities in the world." This higher platform includes responsible freedom,
intuitive development and global view.

Imagine a world after this mass migration to the second tier of consciousness---where
basic values transform into spiritual values and where caring hearts blossom forth into
action to serve humanity. That is what The Shift is all about. Owen Waters has
illuminated the way to cooperation not competition. In this reviewer's opinion, The Shift
is a must-read for all who care. Do you?
