This review is from: Shih-Tzus: Everything About Purchase, Care, Nutrition, Breeding, and Diseases With a Special Chapter on Understanding Your Shih Tzu (Pet Owner's Manual) (Paperback)
This book is very general and gives the reader a light overview. Personal opinions such as writing that some think the Shih Tzu acts like a spoiled child make me wonder if the author has some negative perceptions about the dog. This is not scientific - all dogs in this breed have different personalities! It's like saying all toy dogs are yappy or that all pit bulls are mean. I picked up other negative perceptions - for example, The author states that Shih Tzus are stubborn and can be hard to housebreak. This is not true in my experience. This book is informative; I only hope no new puppy owners feel disenchanted with their new dog after they read this book. When housebreaking ,for example, the trainer needs to start off with a positive mindset.
