I just picked up one of these after trying R version and I have to say it is a very nice reel! It compares well to reels 3x the price that I have tried and it is very light so works well with ultra-light setups. I have it loaded with 10-lbs test proline (the round braided stuff that is the size of 2-lbs test mono). Even casing into the wind with a lighter bait this worked very well for me with no snags.
It seems to be a very forgiving setup for people new to spinner casting as my nephew had no trouble with it after switching to it from a Zebco. The rear drag setting knob is very handy and I prefer it over the front drag setting versions especially when you are trying to set the drag on the fly. I'd say it is hard to beat for the price at least initially. I have only had this for a week and used it for about 6 hours so far. |
