Great crankset, I purchased and installed this when I switched my bike over to 9 speed deore xt, this has been a great compliment to the setup. Looks great, seems very durable, breeze to install.

I replaced my bikes original crankset (FSA Alpha Drive 46/36/26) with this Shimano SLX crankset and have been most impressed with the quality of this crank.
I had this installed with my existing Deore XT rear derailleur and SRAM 11-32 9 speed cassette on my Jamis Coda Elite hybrid. This gives me a wide gear range that will be great for long hilly endurance rides and multi-day tours in the future.

The only additional reccomendation I have is if you have a Shimano chain to replace it with a SRAM chain. I feel the SRAM chains are a much better quality.

Great cranks. Just weigh a little more than the XT, but with all the performance.
I found them for $161bucks. Great deal. Have XT everywhere else on my bike, but saved a few bucks and went with the SLX, and haven't looked back yet!

Great crankset and got it at a competitive price. Picked this up as the second upgrade to my GT Avalanche 1.0. The online model specific instructions from Shimano are slightly different than the instructions that came in the box as to whether to add spacers or not. It was much easier to install the SLX crankset than to take the old Shimano octalink off as that required buying a special tool that I will likely never have to use again.

For my tastes this crankset is pretty expensive and I could only justify it because I had to replace a truvativ stylo that was lame and ultimately failed. I have been really happy with this crankset and the title of the review says it all. If you are interested in cranksets in this price range, then this one should be seriously considered. Ride on.
