5.0 out of 5 stars GOOD REPLACMENT
Good rear derailleur. I replaced my old Shimano tourney with this one. I saw my friends fairly new Trek 3900 so I decided to buy that derailleur because if its on an expensive bike, the parts are usually good and not cheap. I am pairing this with a Schwinn Sidewinder with Shimano ST-EF50 21 speed shifters. (3 X 7) they work well. Barley took any time to tune. Also a note...

2.0 out of 5 stars broke in under a year
If I wrote my review shortly after installing as many of the other reviewers did, I could give 5 stars too-- it works fine in the beginning! Mine is no longer holding chain tension after less a year of use on a Yuba Mundo cargo bike. I plan to replace it soon with a higher grade component.

Also a note if you have taken off your chain to do this and you chain makes a noise after its not properly tuned or you chain link is stiff and you just need to apply lubricants and make it so i moves freely. If you take this to a bike shop and have them do it for you they'll only charge $10 or $15, I live in MA and I know the High expensive bike places and the "not" so great bike places. All the repair shops are good I am just saying that they are all great just some are cheap price but good work. OVerall great buy

4.0 out of 5 stars Shimano Acera Rear Derailleur, November 8, 2011

This a a good derailleur at a good price. I put this derailleur on a GMC Denali that I bought for scrap at a local bike shop. The derailleur is perfect for the person looking to make a replacement on their derailleur for a moderately cheap bike.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy on the wallet......, June 20, 2011

For the money, it's a great piece! It's obviously not high end, but I ride MTB with it and it totally does the job. If you're looking for something decent for almost no money, this is your guy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for the commuter, January 17, 2011

This is a great inexpensive derailleur to slap on the commuter. It does not take an avid cyclists to put this on and adjust, especially with the directions and help from online sources. It has done its job just fine and keeps the commuter at a low cost in parts.

This replacement part worked flawlessly. It was easy to install although some directions would have made it even easier.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great 7 speed derailleur, October 18, 2011

Needed to replace a broken derailleur on a vintage GT. There isn't much available in 7 speed any more and I didn't want to upgrade the cassette and shifter to 8/9 speed. This isn't high end but it shifts and adjusts very nicely. This isn't the lightest component in the world but look at the price folks. Works great so far; hope it holds up 15 years like the last Shimano derailleur did!

5.0 out of 5 stars smooth., August 4, 2011

Replaced a faulty SRAM derailleur with this bargain-priced goodie. Shifts like a dream, no hitch installation, and can withstand a beating with me riding through tall grass and rough terrain on a over-sized hybrid frame.

A great buy if you're looking for something that does exactly what it advertises and don't mind not having the best of the best.
