4.0 out of 5 stars Gotta love it at this price, February 16, 2011

This review is from: Shimano 7/8 Speed Alivio Mountain Bicycle Crankset - Square Taper - FC-M410 (Misc.)
Bought to replace 15yr old cranks on my MTB that had begun to shift shabbily. This crank restored shifting to like new (as best as I can remember it). Almost bought a set for my touring bike, but it put gearing a tad low.
Chainrings are riveted together so you can't replace them individually.
Great to have this option of an inexpensive triple to resuscitate an old bike.

3.0 out of 5 stars chainring, October 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This chainring went on easy and smooth. Unfortunately now no one, and I mean no one, can get my front deraileur to work with this set-up. Going to have to buy a new one to see if it will do the job.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice beefy looking cranks, September 1, 2011

This review is from: Shimano 7/8 Speed Alivio Mountain Bicycle Crankset - Square Taper - FC-M410 (Misc.)
Purchased these to put on an 86" Rockhopper I was building. I had the cheaper Shimano model on. These made a huge difference in pedal effort and how smooth they operate. Good value. The crankarms look beefy, clean, and sleek. Casting looks cleaner than lower end model.Installed without a hitch. Needed a big Allen nut for the arm bolts. Made my bike look much cooler. Now where is that chain lock..
