I bought this chain for an old mountain bike I have w/ Shimano XT, but the bike is over 20 years old, and is a 6 speed uniglide. Even though this is an HG (hyperglide) chain, it fits and works perfectly. I haven't put hundreds or thousands of miles on it yet, but it works much better than the old chain that was on the bike.

Cost-effective and strong chain if kept lubed, but rusts very quickly.,

Overall this chain is still kicking on my moutnain bike, but it isn't a perfect fit (too wide) for modern drivetrains. It will rust quickly (within a day) if not properly lubed after wet or damp early-morning rides. Overall good for the price but a $10 upgrade will get you a much better, smoother, and lower-maintenance chain.

Chains are pretty commodity things in bikes.
They will probably last the same if they are from the top brands. One thing i didn't know about the shimano chains is that you can't reuse the pins after you eject them once. And the chain, which cost more than any other brand, came only with one of those pins. That's just plain cheap. The main problem with it is that if you don't have a good bike shop nearby, like myself, you will have to buy some 50-pack of those pins online.
