Shamano XTR Resin Pads,
By George (San Francisco Bay Area) - See all my reviews

The brake pads arrived on time and in good condition. I went with the resin disc pads because, even though they wear out faster than the medal pads, they are quitter. I have alway had a problem with squealing with the medal pads. The only thing is that what actually was sent was XT pads and not XTR bads. I have purchased XTR pads before and they come in completely different packaging that is clearly marked XTR. The pads that I received are marked XT.

Resin pads are the best for Foes Bike. I been using them for years and no problem. I encounter metal brake pads cause a problem..

I received this item on time but these pads are still in the box, they are just spare. I cannot comment on the quality.

These will cost you about ten dollars more a set at the local bike shop so unless you need pads now, I would suggest stocking up for the day when you have to replace. I run the Saint (BR-800) calipers but these are the exact same pads that are used by XTR/XT. Since Shimano makes these, I feel a little better using OE. The metallic do last a little longer than the resin, but I do get a bit more bite out of the resin and not as harsh of a braking sound (if you care about that). Currently I am doing a great deal of downhilling with the metallics and I can lock up the wheels if I need to without a ton of effort. These work, what more can you say?
