This derailleur is rock solid. What else can I say about it. I was so frustrated with my old Deore and by chance was told that it was shot. So, imagine my surprise to find out that all my crankset gear changing woes were easily solved by spending less than $50 on this derailleur. Installation was very easy. Reading the instructions was all it took to adjust the high and low screw adjustments to dial in perfect shifting through all three rings. I'm happy with this purchase. I should have bought it soon as my old derailleur started failing on me.

After re-framing my mountain bike I needed to get a few new parts.

Needing a very specific front shifter (top swing, 34.9), this XT model was available at a decent price.

That was several hundred miles ago.

It was easy to setup initially and I have not touched it since that first test ride.

Shifts are smooth and accurate and lever effort is low.

For what I needed, this is perfect and it works extremely well.

The only potential issue for anyone facing installation is that you cannot disassemble the cage as it is riveted rather than bolted together, you are therefore forced to split the chain to install it, this was not an issue for me as I had the luxury of working with a new chain.

I installed this on my 2008 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Expert and it works great! I removed the E-Type black part from the derailleur and it fits nicely on the frame mount where the old derailleur was. Shifts quick and does it's job.

The respounce to the shifter is very fast even y yo have an old chain, excellent. / la respuesta a los cambios es muy rapida aun cuando tengas una cadena vieja.

Xt front derailleur does not fail, my first change after 10 years, crossing paths and bike to finish in my bullit. I can say?, you judge .... excellent!

the material was stronger than the original one from ford the only problem where the holes for the electric motor. buth chainsing the part from the old derailleur was eysy so works perfect now. jacob puister costa rica
