5.0 out of 5 stars 9-speeds and a really good wide ratio..., June 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This cog set is 9 speeds, and goes from 11 teeth for the top gear to 34 teeth for the low gear. It's a nice wide ratio to cover everything from steep hillclimbs to high-speed downhills. Watch out for clearance to the derailleur wheel, as 34 teeth is very close to the max for deore shifters. Works flawlessly for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Shimano cassette, September 11, 2011

This is a entry level cassette, so don't expect light weight. There are lighter cassettes on the market. If weight isn't so important however, this unit is strong and durable. I use it on a touring bike, shifts good, works good, lasts long, and doesn't cost an arm and leg. If you are using your bike for racing, or looking for performance..... spend more to get lighter weight parts.... this cassette is HEAVY. All steel, no aluminum carrier or light weight parts here. That said, for my use, it's fine. If I ever wear it out, I'll buy another.

4.0 out of 5 stars So far so good, October 26, 2010

Seems to work fine. Not super light, but I am a weekly rider and works fine for me. Bike does not slip out of gear anymore like with my old worn out one, so that is a plus.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shimano Cassette, September 20, 2010

I used it for the past 9 months. The 11-34 is a nice range - I used 34 just once. Good shifting and no problems at all. Good deal for the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid Cassette for a Solid Price, December 12, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this cassette for my cross country mountain bike along with a new Shimano chain. I had previously been using a SRAM cassette, but the bike was always slipping gears. The fit and finish of the product is great. It installed without a hitch and after a little bit of tuning, my gear shifts are quick and crisp. It's not as lightweight as the more expensive Shimano cassettes, but I would rather take a slightly heavier component for the increased durability. I'm sure this cassette will last a long time and provide lots of reliable service.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shimano cassette, July 12, 2010

We put this on my wife's Trek 1.5 WSD, we also put on a longer chain. Where we live there are many hills/mountains and the lower gears really work great. Great value for the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars I think this is an excellent range, January 29, 2010

I have only used this for a couple months (maybe 600 miles), so I can't speak about the durability, but I think the 11-34 range is lovely. I don't have any need for my granny gear in normal New York City conditions and I can go pretty damn fast.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shimano HG-50 9-Speed 11-32 Cassette, December 20, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Shimano HG-50 9-Speed 11-32 Cassette this cassette has work so well for me that I am going to switch out my 11-34t on my LHT.And I will also put on a 26,36,46t chainring set. This is the setup of the bicycle that I built it rides so much nicer than my LHT.11-32 has a better gearing than the 11-34t for my self.
