Shimano A050 Handlebar Mount 7 speed Road Thumb Shifter Set.

I an enjoying these shifters on my GMC Denali Road Bike !

I replaced the stock 'RevoShift' units on the Denali - those worked fine, but took up too much handlebar space, and the rotating motion to actuate them was 'un-natural' for a road bike.

Viola ! These shifters are easily actuated by the rider's thumb or forefinger, twice as fast as the prior units, and when mounted up against the handlebar stem, they leave tons of room for the rider's hands across the straight portion of the bars.

Or, they're compact enough if you need to space them outwards, to allow mounting of lights or bike computer inboard of them if u prefer.

BTW, two considerations: They're meant for Shimano 7 speed freewheel / cassette applications, and they really should be mounted only on the thicker handlbars that are 24mm or larger diameter.

They don't close down far enough to mount properly on the older, smaller diameter 22 mm / 7/8" handlbars.

So, hope this is of help to you in considering these shifters.

Put these on my old MTB when I decided to add drop bars to the bike.. these shifters work perfectly!

I put these shifters on my Trek 7200 hybrid after converting to drop bars. They've been on the bike for a while now, and work perfectly. This is an amazing prices for such good shifters.

Warning these will not fit on handle bars that are much smaller than 26mm. 26mm is a common size but on a cheap road bike I had the handle bars were closer to 20mm. Anyways these work well on road bikes if you cannot afford brifters. They are better than down-tube shifters because they require less hand/arm movement to shift. Great for getting old bikes back running but you will probably need a conversion kit.

At last, an economical way to add cruiser comforts to a 90's road bike. I could only find these shifters on your website, way up in the NE but the shipping was reasonable and quick. A warning that there's no adjuster knob on the 2(which handles three eaisily) shifter could've saved me some searching on the floor or a parts diagram would do. Only took some quick adjusting and the indexing was perfect. Thank you for saving my touring bike from the scrap heap and me from drop tube shifters.
