4.0 out of 5 stars Quality and Unique shoe, April 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These are very unique shoes. I like the style and the shoe lace protectors. They feel a little loose and aren't as snug as I would like, but that might be a size problem. They support great and have a nice rigid sole. Recommended if you want a unique look but might go with a three strap system for better performance.

3.0 out of 5 stars Big and Heavy, January 17, 2011
I typically a 26 Eur. I bought a size 26. They are almost too big. Maybe they ARE too big, but I mail ordered them, convinced myself they fit, rode them, and now they're mine. If I get a chance, I'll try on a 25 at a local shop to see if it was too small... Let's say these run large. Even if they were a half size smaller, they'd still be really big for cycling and boy are they heavy. Just one of these shoes is much heavier than my whole pair of Pearl Izumi Vagabond shoes which are kinda middle of the road cross country MTB shoes (at least in terms of weight). They're heavier than all my street shoes. They clomp like boots when walking. These are great shoes if you're riding the chairlift, but if you pay for your turns, think twice. I'd give them two stars, but they grip like all get-out which is nice in technical situations when you don't want to be clipped in.

I just started riding clipless pedals on my fixed gear, and this were the best first shoe. Great fit, and the cleats mounted perfectly. Good work Shimano.
