This is my second 2500 series reel. I liked my first so much I purchased an additional.
Smooth action and great line managment.

I fish both fresh and salt. Years ago I learned that no brand compares to the drag system and reliability of Shimano spinning reels in the harsh saltwater environment. I am slowly replacing all of my freshwater and the Sedona offers a great balance of features and quality of the money.

I've used Sedonas starting with a couple of models back from the current one and including the current one. They have all been good reels, but the current version of the Sedona is more ergonomic and feels better in the hand. I find the Sedona to be a good value and you'll have a hard time finding a smoother reel in this price range. I know other people who use them and they seem to hold up good under use.

I've stuck to Shimano reels for years - they are smooth and durable, and this is no exception - great long casts, smooth, quick retrieves. Don't waste your money on lesser brands.

I bought the SE500 FD and it works well for medium bass and crappie. Put it on an medium action Ugly Stick and so far so good after several days of fishing. The gears work smoothly.
