This is the original freewheel that came on my Raleigh comfort bike. After wearing it out, I bought a new one to put on and another as a spare. The 34-teeth first gear is only necessary when going over a bridge (in Louisiana) or across soft ground, but it is great to have!

My Trek 820 had this freewheel and I appreciated the 34T when I was in mud or sand, so I replaced the 6 speed freewheel and old Shimano Tourney Derailleur on an 87 Diamondback Curaca with this and a new Shimano Tourney Derailleur. I've only ridden it 60 miles since I've received it; nevertheless, yesterday when I went for 35 miles it worked great in riding on the road to the mud, through the mud once I got there, and back home. Note that if you are changing from a 6 speed to a 7 speed on an older bike you may need to consider the space in between the rear forkends, mine worked out just right. If I rode tougher singletrack I would probably consider a freehub + cassette with more transition between the tallest and 2nd tallest gears.

I bought 2 of these for $29.32. A Parks FR-1 type lock ring tooling is needed to remove old cassette and lock on new one. I made a makeshift chain whip to assist. This is the ideal time to also install a new chain and to relube/pack the bearings in rear axle.
The thing that annoyed me is that I bought the parts on May 15 and they didn't arrive until June 13. Green Canyon's customer service explained that mistakes were made by either them or carrier; their customer service was polite and helpful. Overall, I'm
satisfied. But I have to admit that I ran out of both patience and impatience.

item came promptly and was exactly as described. 34 vs my old 28 was really great! for a small investment, it could revive an old MTB.

This was exactly what I needed to replace the existing cassette. It was simple to remove the existing one and install this one.

I purchased it as a spare. I use the large gear to allow me to climb the tough hills in my home area on my 1975 road bike. I was advised the freewheel is hard to find. I thought it best to purchase it when I saw it available at Amazon.

This is an exact replacement for the MegaRange freewheel that was on my mountain bike. It was a good price, and shipped quickly
