Works Great!
Easy to install. Nearly silent when coasting. 17T helps a little on the hills over the 16T. Great Shimano product.

Meh
I really want to my single speed to be "stealth" quite. So far that goal has eluded me, as when I pedal I get this hard to describe grinding/scratching noise, almost as if sand was in the drive train somewhere. I've tried just about everything, lubing the chain, lubing the freewheel (more on that in a bit), even replacing the chain with a 3/32 inch the better...

Got this in the mail yesterday to turn my road bike into a single speed and I have to say it's great. Much quieter than the five geared freewheel that was on my bike before and is quiet as can be coast. I am a happy guy with a single speed bike now.

Been working good so far! I ride 5 miles one way to work every day (winter as well), and the jump from 16 to 17 teeth really helped in the snow. Thinking about 18 actually, since there is so much more rolling resistance with winter tires... Anyway, I recommend!

SHIMANO MAKES GOOD STUFF. THIS FREEWHEEL IS THE SMALLEST YOU CAN USE WITHOUT A FLIP-FLOP HUB.
YOU CAN RE-LUBE THESE BY SOAKING THEM IN HEAVY OIL OVER NIGHT. CLEAN FIRST. I USE 16 TOOTH FREEWHEELS AND A 32-34 TOOTH CHAIN RING OR CHAIN WHEEL TO GET 2:1 GEARING. THE PERFECT SET UP...
