This brake system is an absolute must when used with the 6700 STI levers. The leverage needed is very minimal compared to older caliper designs. If you have the new levers then you need these. Have always had success when using shimano calipers (105, Ultegra) and not so much luck with Tektro and Cane Creek. To me braking is important and I like to have MTB disc-like performance. These brakes give me confidence.

I upgraded this year to Ultegra on my road bike. I bought these to replace functional but soft no-name brakes. The install I did myself and it was fine. All the parts you need even the wire end nibs are included. You need to be sure you have STI shifters and levers (shift and brakes together). The install took about 30 minutes and then 20 min of riding and fine tuning. The very cool aspect of these brakes is that you can manually set the toe in. If you descend at any kind of speed, this is critical. You don't want fishtail at 40+ mph. Toe-in allows you to ease the brakes on and have the soft touch required for high speed turns and descents. The pad material is fantastic - it is very firm and doesn't pick up debris like softer pads (tough on rims). I would recommend these brakes for the quality and the price was unbeatable. I believe these pads will last for about 5,000 miles or more.

These work great on my bike. I'm a big guy (over 200 lbs.) and the stopping power is a great improvement over my old brakes. Easy to install, they are clean and in great condition.
