Removable hood keeps dog's head warm on colder days and adds style versatility. Hood connects with elastic loop and buttons (see photo below). Has a nice collar under hood for finished look even when hood is removed. Velcro closures at chest and belly keeps jacket secure. Comes with a hanger. This style appealed to me because it's different from a sweater and I thought it would be especially warm. I didn't think it through, because the cape style limits movement. It's probably fine for a sedate walk, but if there's running or playing involved, stick with something that has sleeves.

I thought the inside would be fleece and it's actually a quilted nylon, a lot less warm and a bit slippery too, since there's nothing to keep it centered on the dog's back--it keeps sliding sideways.

Also, this ran a bit larger than other XS items I've bought.

This is a good quality coat. It seems to keep my dog warm and is very easy to put on and remove. It is getting tight around her middle, but can be extended with more velcro. I have not used the hood it came with, but may need to the next time it snows or rains (I am glad it came with one and that it is removable). Very nice product!
