5.0 out of 5 stars Full of 1960s Exciting Songs from ABC Studio!, December 25, 2001
This review is from: Shindig: Frat Party [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The best starting point of "Shindig" series, this volume presents many faces of the pop music you heard during 1960s. And MOST of the artists play it LIVE here. No lip-sync, OK?

You are about to see people like this: Kingsmen playing "Louie, Louie" (but probably the group had its vocal replaced); Doug Sam's hit song "She's About a Mover" (he's young!); you see Hondells riding bikes (in studio? yeah!), The Olympics playing "Good Lovin'" later covered by Young Rascals, and the last number is The Isley Brothers' great rock number "Shout." AND there are more exciting acts, of which I love best is Roy Head's dynamite soul "Treat Her Right." You heard its cover version in Alan Parker film "Commitment," but this is 10 times better. Oh, and listen. Because of censorship on TV, you could not "love tonight," so the lyrics go "kiss tonight." 40 years ago, and things changed. Special guest is Zsa Zsa Gabor, and she even sings a song!!
