Great addition to the Shining series. Definitely worth checking out. Loved it as a kid and still do. If you get it used expect to replace the battery.

i have an fc3plus and now im on amazon buying all my favorite throwback games...to be corny, its like im a kid again lol would definately buy from this seller again

altho' the game arrived in a timely manner and the game seems to be in good working order, i was disappointed that it did not come with it's storage case, but, terribly disappointed that the gaming instruction book was not included and i am unable to play it ... if the provider of this game would send such book to me, i will most happily change this negative review asap ... thanks

I recently tracked down this game b/c I began to REALLY like Shining Force, but this game was lacking, to say the least.....Final Fantasy 1 is better than this. Everything in the game from what I can tell, is one big labyrinth which was confusing. I'm a old school gamer, and have been playing games for about 20 yrs or so. the lousy graphics I don't mind.....the story line isn't bad. I just don't like the total labyrinth feel. Everything is shown in a third person view (ie like Dune or something) and I don't think there is a way to change that. the battles are boring and don't seem to require much strategy or thought. So, in case you can't get my idea of this review..........it is, don't waste your money and if U like a game like this, go with Shining Force 1-3, but not this prequel

Im so surprised to find this game on amazon. I stumbled across it years ago, and I thought it might part of the shining force series(the bad guys name is darksol, from sf1) so I played it... played it all the way to the end. Geezus what a waste of time! I got angrier and angrier the longer I played, but im a die hard so I kept going...
Look there just isnt much in this game. Its more primitive, in my opinion, than the original dragon warrior. which I would have thought was hard to do. At one point you can find some kind of special metals and have a blacksmith forge some unique items but that is the limit of its complexity. Its just one dungeon, cant remember how many levels, but such a small universe and... man its REALLY boring. Its not worth 50 cents. dont play it. Im warning everyone off because I see myself as a conciencious member of society and one of the things social animals do is try to keep each other from making bad decisions.

I got this at a thrift store for i think only a buck maybe more. But it was still pretty cheap......... The game is basiclly a old school dungeon crawler like that wizardy game my brother used to love. The art is in anime style... Much better then any NES game. Other then that there really is not anything special about this game.
