5.0 out of 5 stars DJ revamps old marley song into clubland inferno
Danish DJ Martin Ottersen aka Funkstar De Lux revamps an old Bob Marley tune from '71 with a '90's groovy house beat with some funky bass thrown in to create the best dance track of the year. A whole new generation gets to be turned on to Marley's singing while we dance up a sweat with a smile on our face. The remix is nothing short of brilliant- Marley's vocals are...

1.0 out of 5 stars When I hear this kind of music in a club....
...I run into the other room.

The recent increase in club music popularity, and elevation of dance music as a viable Top-40 option has also inevitably led to a barrage of mindless "choons." Case in point: "Sun Is Shining."

It's a terrible remix of one of the world's greatest performers! No sooner was this a success then Funkstar Deluxe had to...

This review is from: Sun Is Shining Pt.1 (Audio CD)
Danish DJ Martin Ottersen aka Funkstar De Lux revamps an old Bob Marley tune from '71 with a '90's groovy house beat with some funky bass thrown in to create the best dance track of the year. A whole new generation gets to be turned on to Marley's singing while we dance up a sweat with a smile on our face. The remix is nothing short of brilliant- Marley's vocals are clear, but that driving beat just adds a whole new millenium dimension driving the song higher and higher. This song will make you dance, sing and smile. Bob sings "makes you want to move your dancing feet". Without a doubt!

The recent increase in club music popularity, and elevation of dance music as a viable Top-40 option has also inevitably led to a barrage of mindless "choons." Case in point: "Sun Is Shining."

It's a terrible remix of one of the world's greatest performers! No sooner was this a success then Funkstar Deluxe had to come out with "Rainbow Country," another mindless excursion into bad taste. The only compilations you'll find this on are the cheesy ones put out by Ministry of Sound.

Try an intelligent, musical Ibiza anthem like "Groovejet" by Spiller instead. Nothing innovative here. If you like this, the next logical step is "Who Needs Guitars Anyway?" by Alice Deejay and "The Party Album" by the Vengaboys. You get the picture.
