Lovely Late Night Music of John Mandel, May 20, 2008

This is a beautiful disc for dinner, lights low, and your favorite friend across the table. Recorded in 1981. All tunes from the pen of Johnny Mandel. Bass player Dean Reilly had been with Cal and Vince G. from the '50's. This may have been Cal's last recording before passing on to Jazz Heaven. Scott Hamilton shares the scene and Hank Jones takes you away as only he can. Lovely classic music. Mandel is a treasure we need more of in our lives. Very recommended.
