5.0 out of 5 stars The best!, October 22, 1999
By A Customer
I loved this book!! I think it would be very surprising to go into the barn to check on your horse and find a girl in the stall next to your horse!! I really hate it when Angelique tries to steal Tor from Samantha. I think the Thoroughbred series books are very emotional. They make you feel like you are one of the characters. I have read #1 through #12, and one Super Edition, and I have really liked them all. I seriously recommend this book and the rest of the series!!! If you haven't read this book, you should!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cindy the runaway foster child, April 13, 2004
A Kid's Review
I loved this book, it was the best Thoroughbred book I have ever read. If you have read the other books in the Thoroughbred series I conceder reading this book. I love this book because when Samantha finds cindy in the barn with the orphan foals she dosnt kick her out, she and her family fight to become Cindys foster parents. I also love it because in the end cindy gets to stay with Samantha's family for a llittle while. I sure am glad she didn't have to go with that awful Mrs. Lovell.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shining ending for Samantha, February 3, 2001
I always liked this book because it was the last in the Samantha Dynasty (my fav character). I had to dislike it also, since it was the beginning of another, but she isn't focused on much in this book. Shining's Orphan is about, you guessed it, a runaway orphan who happens to stumble upon Whitebrook. But it's more about Samantha and her problems with Tor. I liked this since everyone else seems to have picture perfect relationships in these books. And, although it was all innocent, it spiced things up in the romance section. Finally someone was crying over something non-horse related! Overall, a great installment to the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT SERIES, December 13, 1998
By A Customer
I'm a little new to the Thoroughbred series--but I'm definetly planning on reading more. I've read #1, #2, #5, #6, #7, and #16, and I'm asking for more for Christmas because these books rock! However, I'm disappointed to find out that Christina and Cindy are snobs. Cindy seemed really nice in #16, and it's too bad she becomes a jerk later. I'm glad that Joanna's back, though, so she can fix the series and amazingly make Christina and/or Cindy better people. I'm also hoping to get CASSIDY'S SECRET as well. Out of all of these books I've read, they are fantastic. THey're about horses, well-detailed and the characters(most of them) are kind at heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Awesome,awesome book!!!!!!!!!, September 5, 1998
By A Customer
I have always loved the Thoroughbred series!!!This book was no exception!!!It is awesome!!!I recommend it to anyone and everyone!!My only problem with this series is that once the Samantha books started they hardly talked about Ashleigh and once the Cindy books started they hardly talked about Samantha.I haven't read any of the books about Ashleigh's daughter but I'm assuming it's the same. But I don't have too many other complaints. One is that they don't talk much of Mr.Wonderful or Townsend Princess or Precocious. And I don't think it would hurt to mention Wonder and Fleet Goddess or any of the other retired champions more often, would it??But I still think that these books are awesome!!!!!READ,READ,READ!!!!!!!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Save Thoroughbred!, January 12, 2005

While Cindy is not my favorite character, I did enjoy this book because it included some wonderful glimpses into Len's character and had a lot about Shining in it. This series is just too good to allow HarperCollins to cancel it! SAVE THOROUGHBRED!!

5.0 out of 5 stars one of the best, August 20, 2002
A Kid's Review
this book was great. I really enjoyed reading it. I especially liked how they introduced Cindy as the new character. She makes a good new addition to the series. I hope the books with her will be as good as the ones with Sam nad Ashleigh. Anyway, I'd recommend this book to anyone so don't hesitated to pick this book up in the bookstore.
