I have used this Brand and model tire before, this will be my third tire for my third Interstate motorcycle. I have tried other brands (Bridgestone, Dunlop) and they seem to last just as long if not longer then the more expensive brands. I ride hard and fast from state to state and have used this tire in rain and sleet, it handles great. My current bike is a Honda Custom touring bike. On a previous Interstate bike I put on a little over 8,000 miles before I sold it and it still had plenty of meat left. Good cornering, good ride, I rate this as a good value.

I have been an avid biker for over 30 years and have been through a lot of tires. 95% of those that claim to be "high mileage" end up being no better than any other. Truth be know is that there is NO holy grail when it comes to tires. Bottom line is there are three factors that determine tire wear/life, and that's rider & cargo weight, riding style and the bike itself. Of course any tire will last longer on a lightweight jap bike than it would on a Harley as I have (and I weigh 274 lbs). Proper inflation is also a key to tire wear. So unless the reviewer reveals some or all of this info, take it with a spoon of salt. I have purchased numerous brands and they have lasted almost the same (4500-5500 mi). This tire is no exception but for one thing, and that is the price. DEFINITELY a bargain. Delivery was way fast (3 days ahead of schedule). Tread pattern is good looking and functional. Wears evenly and is well balanced. Out preforms tires 3 times the price. Will definitely purchase again.

I have been riding on Shinko the last 7 years, Yokohama was the name of these tires prior to the new Shinko logo. I can buy 2 of these for the price of 1 Dunlop Tire and get 5,000 miles more, for my money.
The Rubber is softer, is why they wear quicker, but the grip I get is better, than The OEM Dunlop that Harley comes standard with from the dealer. Other Riders have their preferences and I respect their choices, cause they don't interfere with mine.
I do not care what other Riders Think or say, I been riding Harleys for 35 years, from my first ElectraGlide in 1978 all the way to my 2003 FLH I know what I want and I know what I like so...
For my dollars.... I ride with Shinko for now... Cause I feel and get a better even safer Ride from The Shinko... plus the money I save goes to my bike. She likes that!!

I bought front and rear Shinko 712s for my 1988 Honda NX250. They spooned on just fine and balanced easily. After scuffing them in for about 100 miles, they have performed better than I expected. They are quiet and smooth and hold the road really well in corners. I commute 350 miles per week and have been caught in several rain storms since I installed these tires. After the first wet road, I have total confidence in them. The only tire I have had handle the rain as well as these were my Metzler 880s on my Goldwing.

The next bike in the stable that needs tires is the Ninja and I'll be putting Shinkos on it as well!

I called around all my local motor cycle shops looking for tires and the back tire alone was always $200+ so i started looking on line and found the shinko to be the lowest cost. After a little reserch i found out they were the new name for yokahama. I have been very happy wirh them so far I've put a little over 3k on the front and about 1500 on the back and they handle great in all weather and have exalant tread wear i dont think ill ever go back to any thing else

I put one of these on my 78' Yamaha XS650 and I couldn't be happier, tired feels a bit soft but nothing I was concerned about, sticks well in turns and I'm about to take it on a 700+ mile roadtrip....will update after that.

Good tired for a good price, no complaints.

was told at driving school to replace tires over 5 years old, and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! did not need to balance, and found using a standard automobile tire machine, was able to swap onto rim pretty easily.
