The BEST genesis game ever!!!,

Shinobi III is easily the best game Sega ever released. Theshinobi series started with 1. Revenge of Shinobi 2. Shinobi the Shadow Dancer and finally 3. Shinobi III: the return of the ninja master. I spent an enormous amount of time playing this super

The star of Genesis action games,
By A Customer
This review is from: Shinobi III (Video Game)
The Shinobi series is a star in the Sega Genesis lineup of games. The games can be thought of as either action games or shooters - in either case they are fun, original (somewhat), and challenging. In Shinobi you take the part of a vengeful ninja (what did you expect! ) who attempts to recover his loved one. Despite the banal plot, the game offers its key points in gameplay and visuals - crisp backgrounds, tight controls, and numerous enemies. Unlike many other games, this one suffers no slowdown, and you will never fall into bottomless pits due to sticking or any other such things.Shinobi III is a classic. If you enjoy the genre and own a Genesis, try it out.

Best Shinobi game on the Genesis,

Great graphics, music, sound, and action. Shinobi 3 is probably the best 16-bit Shinobi game available. If you like ninja games you can't go wrong.

And maybe the best Ninja game ever! Shinobi 3 is by far the best of the Shinobi series on the Sega Genesis. Both the original Revenge Of The Shinobi and Shadow Dancer Secret Of The Shinobi is another good game but this one is by far the best. The story line is a little cliche and the plot does seem a bit regurgitated; but lets move on to the important stuff.
The gameplay is by far the biggest stand out. Shinobi can do just about anything a realistic human warrior can do; besides summon dragon spirits for fire and using his body like a human bomb and shield himself with lightning. Joe mousashi can do air somersaults and climb across ledges; has a wide variety of melee attacks that include different dashing and jumping attacks. What also sets this game apart to is it makes use of a hook element like in Strider and also you can block your opponents attacks as well. The levels are very long and graphics are colorful. What also makes this game what it is was the excellent music that accompany you through the various levels. I would recommend this game to anybody. One of the top 10 or even 5 I would say for the Genesis.

This game was one of the best games ever made for the Genesis, not to mention one of the greatest games ever created. This game has really cool level designs and the missions are awesome to play through. Joe Musashi has a number of attacks and platforming moves up his sleeves which makes the action all the more sweeter. You never know what he might be doing next on another level like the level in which he battles ninjas via surfboard. If you liked Ninja Gaiden you'll probably love this amazing retro ninja classic. The graphics are nice and crisp, the enemies are pretty cool, the gameplay is still awesome, the character designs and level designs are awesome, and it is an experience unlike anything else you've played. The only problem is the game at times feels too easy, but that's never a problem during this wild adventure.

Anyone wanting to get the most out of their sega genesis needs to plug this bad boy in. I have friends with all the newest consoles and action games, but in the end, I have racked up more hours on Shinobi 3 than any other game this year. It utilizes the sega's ability to the max. With revolutionary graphics and the flow of the controls, this game takes the cake.

I've just recently started playing all the old classic games (nes, snes and Genesis) and I forgot how much of a challenge most of them are without save states. I rarely ever play any newer games anymore. Anyway, Shinobi 3 is definitely a game that can be challenging, but very enjoyable to replay and master, and the controls are excellent and easy to get used to. I haven't gotten very far in the game yet, but definitely a blast with fantastic graphics, sounds and gameplay! I missed out on a lot of great games growing up, including the Shinobi series, but I intend to play the other ones as well.

Yeah more Genesis reviews well I liked the 16 bit era this time I'll review Shinobi 3 this was the true sequel to The Revenge Of Shinobi 1989 & follows up from Shadow Dancer 1990. Story is Joe Musashi has returned to Japan after defeating Union Lizard Joe hears rumours of NEO ZEED returning basically an excuse to whoop some @$$. ZEED's new weapon is a clone from Joe's blood line. You need to kill ZEED & destroy the clone. The game has difficulty & great game play which has a horse back level & a surfing level. Shinobi 3 was considered a high point in the series. Yes I know this game was delayed a lot but it really showed that the Sega of Tom Kalinskie took time to get it right if they wanted the public's money to give us the best game possible unlike the Sega of Simon Jeffery that thinks they can sell a Sonic or Shinobi game that's $*!t and they'll have instant credibility.

After 'Revenge' the Shinobi games went downhill quite bit with the rather tepid Shadow Dancer. I know I'm not the only person in the world who was disappointed with the Genesis port because the arcade version (and even the Commodore 64 version) was so much better (and almost completely different).
Shinobi III goes back to the gameplay of 'Revenge' and gives us more of the same only with improved graphics (great stuff for a simple 16-bit Genesis) and different locations. A rather cool horseback and surfboard level is included too. We also get a new climbing ability, which is quite cool. And the bad guys still explode when you kill them, for some reason. It starts out quite easy but gets rather hard towards the end. You'll be screaming with anger in the rockfall and aircraft levels. However, the bad guys still do nothing but wait for you to kill them and the worst thing for you is simply falling down bottomless pits. Anyone who enjoyed 'Revenge' will no doubt get a kick out of Shinobi III. Graphics A Sound B Gameplay B Lasting Appeal B- |
