This review is from: [Free Shipping] 2.4GHz Motion/Voice detection Wireless Nightvision Video Monitoring Camera System and Night Vision Baby Monitor Detector Support Alarming
Upon looking at the box..."Oh great, this item does come with the portable monitor!" Nah, it's just a generic box for two types of model that this product comes in. That might've been a bonus though...but probably cost more. This model only came with the receiver that connects to a TV or computer with TV tuner or some sort of software that captures Composite Video Input.Anyways, back to the review. I'm using this camera to monitor our baby. The setup was fairly easy with simple instructions. I have a TV tuner on my computer and hooked it up to that. I also tested on my TV and it worked fine. Initially I played with the channels a little (there's 3 to choose from...which means, you should be able to get 2 additional cameras and watch it on one monitor.) And found that only one channel worked for me. I also changed the channel on my wireless router as it also uses 2.4Ghz frequency. There's also other wireless devices within our apartment complex, so I don't know how much interference it was really doing. I didn't test out the alarm functions or the sound quality as we already have a dedicated sound monitor. It does have a wall/ceiling mount option. You can't control the camera remotely, but we didn't need it for that. The night vision works great! Which was really important for us since the whole point of it was being able to see our baby without walking into his dark room. The range on the night vision, isn't that long, though. I can see our baby and the crib clearly, but the rest of the room is still pretty dark. The picture quality wasn't the most impressive, but good enough. There's static on the screen every now and again, but not enough to be annoying...possibly interference from other devices. I only tested this device within out apartmet, which isn't very big. So I can't say much about it's range. The receiver does have a detechable antenna, so maybe you could attach a bigger antenna to it if you needed to. The signal got through the walls just fine. Overall, for what we were looking for, while not breaking the bank, we are quite satify with the product. We've only had it for a week, so I'll try to write updates if anything changes. Recommended for other parents wanting to keep an eye on their kids in different rooms. |
